Is this only for me. I am playing on medium. The elves are much stronger when I play skirmish. When I play the helms deep level they do hardly any damage to enemies. I have them fully upgraded. They can get destroyed by a regular unupgraded urak group. Once the upgraded ones come I lose all my elves. How could I change this.

Are you sure there's really only one group? Many may be piled in the same spot, looking like they're just one.
And keep in mind, they've been taking hits from loads of crossbowmen as well.
And, just in case, you did upgrade them with heavy armor, right? You said you had them FU, but I want to make sure. They do not come with heavy armor, after all.
In addition, try throwing eorlingas in there with them. Along with a few heros.

The uruks have no upgrade effect on that map so the lag will be cut down. Many of those units likely have upgrades and you do not even know it.

Are you sure adummy? Because I very clearly remember seeing both unupgraded and upgraded at helm's....
It was only a few weeks ago, after all :D

EDIT: Oh crap! I'm talking to adummy! :D

Maybe it was only Minas Tirith. Not too sure now that you mention it.

*Cough* Mordor's units can't get upgrades *cough*

It's leadership I think you're thinking of. I'm pretty sure he took off the FX for it on both those maps. Minas Tirith for sure. I remember the disscussion for that one :p

I can confirm this. The Helm's Deep Elves are put to shame by Eorlinga Spearmen.

Because there's more of them, and they have formation. Put just them somewhere, and they will be toast.

You mean the spearmen, right? I had no problems with weak elves. In fact, when the Deeping Wall was breached, I had all of my elves hightail it to the keep, and they held off the entire Isengard army without a single one even making it to the ramp (I had one battalion of the Eorlinga spearmen down there, but they really didn't get hurt much because the elves were covering them the whole time). I played that mission really canon, actually... everything happened, including the gate being breached and stuff... except Gimli died instead of Haldir. :p and he came back to life. :p

Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

I had the meaning of life in my signature, but it exceeded the character limit.

Even attack-wise. Without forged blades. That's not right. Haldir is also immensely weakened and can't kill much of anything in under 6 shots or hits. He also does not get stronger as he levels.

Yeah, Haldir has a bug Cel meant to fix, but never got around to obviously.

Attack-wise, spearmen> Elves? Are you smoking something?

I think you just can't defend. :shiftee:
I've defended the wall with the elves, Lego, Haldir, Boro, Aragorn and Gimli only, and didn't lose a single batt.

The problem isn't losing battalions. The problem is their attack power is crap compared to normal.

I haven't played TEA for a long, long time, but I've never noticed the elves being weak...
They pwned at Helm's deep for as much i can remember

Yeah, when I played this map on hard my elves wrecked everything and just lol'ed at all the xbow and ballista fire and when zerkers and the like got on the walls then they'd be quickly killed along with the ladders. I'll admit that I don't follow the lore and blow up the mines so my elves dont have to melee, but I know for a fact that they're just amazing at range.

If anything, it's the eorlingas that sucked in my experience with the tea campaign...

Regardless, I used melee. One hit from an Eorlinga spearman (un upgraded) put a blow from an Elf to shame.

Huh. The elves kicked butt when I played HD.

I used to be {AE}Manveru, if that rings a bell.
