So yeah, I decided to download google's new internet browser, chrome (www.google.com/chrome) and i have to say, it's pretty good. Heres a couple of neat things it can do:

1. Want a new window? Click and drag one of the tabs outside the window and it will automatically create a new window of Chrome!
2. Page crashed? With Chrome, when a tab crashes, it does NOT affect the other tabs you have open!
3. Metabar - Type a site name or a search term in the URL bar, and it will bring up search results for it from the search engine of your choice, or the site itself!
4. Improved Javascript. The Wired Magazine article about Chrome states that, in all essentialities, Chrome is 56x faster than IE, and 10x faster than Firefox or Netscape.
5. It's ENTIRELY open-source!
6. Built-in spellchecker Automatically spellchecks what you type, even if you aren't on a site that has a spellchecker built-in! The only real flaw with this is that it considers "google" to be mispelled. Lol.

If these aren't good enough reasons to get it, I'm not sure what are. Go ahead and download it if you haven't already, it's definitely worth it. Take this from the guy who stuck with IE6 for months after IE7 was released =P

Eh, I honestly wasn't too enamoured of Chrome having tried it at my mate's house. Mainly because I hate the icon :p
The anti-crashing function is certainly useful, and the old InCognito mode (even if it does send all your details to Google, I doubt they trawl it) but for some reason it ran incredibly slowly on his computer. That may well have just been his PC being weird but for some reason IE loaded things faster.
All things considered, it's Firefox for me :p
Of course I don't look busy; I did it right the first time.

Chrome has the right to delete anything you download through their browser. They also have the rights to information you send with their browser.

Chrome was slow on my computer for a week or so. Upon checking in my network connections though, I found I had two different Internet Protocols installed, so I uninstalled one. Now it's running super-fast again! Maybe you have two connection protocols installed at once?

And for those who get any problems with flash or youtube or similar, I recommend updating Shockwave Flash. That fixed the lag problems with videos for me.

I'm lovin' Firefox 3. It has some great add-ons that speed things up, surf smarter, and that IE should have came with from the start. IE is going to have to crank it up a few notches before I even consider switching back. Posted Image

I prefer FireFox, It remembers my tabs if it for some obscure reason happens to crash

And I even like the name! :)
