For general information regarding the trailer, scroll down to the quote.

As you may have guessed, this is the topic for the first phase of the creation of a trailer: finding a crew. We need people who are:

- Talented enough to make a decent trailer with a program of choice,
- Regular or older members (no guests or newbies, unless they post regularly on the forums, thus making them regular members),
- Dedicated enough to finish the project.

If you want to apply for the job, please post some proof of your abilities (something small and short will do).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Copied from old topic here: http://forums.revora...mp;#entry637874

A lot of things have changed since this topic was created, so I've developed a new scheme to make a (much needed) trailer. I've divided the process of making one in three different phases:

1) The Crew

First we need a person or even better, a team, with enough talent to make a decent showcase of our mod. We will need full dedication and conformation for this project, since the whole process will take several months. I'm gonna try to work towards a trailer at the launch of our new beta 4.7, which will be released Q4 2008/Q1 2009. Everyone will need to show proof of their talents, and I won't accept guests or new members with less then 50 posts (just an example, but newbies tend to disappear quite a lot). Once the right people have been chosen, we'll move on to the second stage.

2) The Content

Next we'll get busy planning the overall lay-out of the trailer and making decisions about the content. This is probably going to be the longest phase, because I'd like to get the best ideas from everyone. Everything will be discussed, from what we'll show to the music used.

3) The Creation

Then we get to the great final, the creation of the actual footage  . Expect to start working on this in November/December. Footage can be provided by the SEE Team Members or everyone who's willing to help.

Not necessarily. There are enough people who can make a trailer on their own, so I'm not gonna try to form a team if not needed. The discussion regarding the content and such will happen in public (aka everyone can make suggestions, not just the crew). It would be nice to have more people at the job of course, but I don't think too much people will apply.

Well, I've been looking for something to help S.E.E. out with, and this might be my chance to help out. While I only have Windows Movie Maker to use, I think I can give S.E.E. enough justice when it comes to editing clips together. I also have the ability to rip scenes from the movie dvd's themselves. So, LET'S DO THIS.

Great, that's a good motivation zach! Can you show a little self-made teaser? I know this will involve a bit of work, but I've got to know sure that you're up to the job (yes, that also applies for team members ). Just show some new units for example, with a nice background music and some varied camera angles.

Alrighty, I found game cam, and I'm going to mess around with it a little bit today. And I think I have an idea on what to do for the trailer, especially considering that S.E.E.'s premise is being a nod to Peter Jackson. :xcahik_:

Edit: I seem to only have some sort of trial version or something, would anyone know where to find a full version?

I guess I don't mind giving you some aid with this. I've made several videos to promote my maps like Fall of the Iron Crown or Golden Forest.

Looked at your trailers fir the Fall of the Iron Crown - brilliant (makes me want to upgrade my PC and buy RotWK just to play it. Advertising works)

One thing though, I only get audio with the above link. Probably me doing something wrong though.

@ Dre@mer: that's some impressive work! Great use of camera perspectives and music. Nice and tidy. Noticed some text appearing at the beginning of the trailer ('game saved'), but that's the only minor negative point.

@ Hexman: that trailer is also nice, music is used well (even though the quality isn't great, as you stated in the description on Youtube). I did notice some lag though, and that's something we can't afford in a trailer :p. Captured material could be better, or more epic.

Not sure why the video doesn't show up, it happened to me once - had to download the latest media player to get it working properly.

Ok them :p . But I can do better. Now I know how to put fine music. But I think that dreamer has done a beautiful work and he can do it :p. The lag is because I was playing at High (I think XD) and I can reduce playing at Low.

Ye think EA makes a trailer out of the Low graphics? :p
Well, they lie about much of it, but it's not on low :p

Then again, I'm not in charge.. :D

You are right but I am not talking put everything on low xD. Just somethings like shadows.

Just one thing, what are shaders?
