Since I don't like CNC3's engine restrictions nor Zero Hour's economy, I was thinking about doing a Yuri's revenge mod. Now I have 2 ideas floating around in my head, but I don't have time to do both. I know there's tons of vanilla RA2 with some new units and nuclear monkeys, and I know there's a few Sci-Fi mods out there, but that's all I got ideas for at the moment. I'm still working on the stories, so these are very basic description and project names.

1) "Signal"
Three sides, sci-fi, EBFD/CNC3 feel, trying to make a balanced half-conversion with some unique gameplay mechanics. Full cybernetic/corporation side, old military side (GDI'ish), and an alliance of criminals, mercenaries, and freedom fighters. I may do one/two subfactions for each side in the future.

2) "Wrath"
A Red Alert 2 "reboot" mod. It's where the Allies would invade Russia instead. This is more based on the RA2 concept art, so Allies would have more Chrono-themes and Telsa for the Soviets. Allies would get back the Flak Cannons, Soviets with the missiles, etc. Nothing major, just a reinvisioning.

Mod announcements is for mods which are realised already in general.

As for mod, its up to modder.

It really depends on your skills in various areas and commitment you wanna make, if you decide sci-fi, it will demand much more in terms of artwork & sounds and overall overhaul.

while reboot is simpler work wise but may not be as creative.

I think you should assess this by looking around if there is existing assets you can use/edit to reduce workload for either project and go from there. :xcahik_:

i've always wanted to see a mod with all 'bad guy' factions, no 'good' side

things where each has a different agenda, but none are the stereotypical good guy. each can have good and bad traits

some ideas i thought up include:
a faction that wants to create the 'perfect' human (so cybernetics, genetic mutation, etc. anything to enhance the human body)
a faction that fights to protect its own, but is ruthless to its enemies (steamroller tactics, if your our friends then you will stand down, if you dont then you are our enemy and we will crush you)
a faction bent on global domination, in order to 'cleanse the world of corruption' (maybe should be a high tech faction? like allies sorta thing)

and maybe a machine faction... come on, their just to cool to pass up :xcahik_:



those factions might fit into both ideas, i mean, allies aren't really 'good guys' if they are the ones invading people, otherwise the future conversion could feature factions similar to this.

by no means do you have to use these ideas, i was just chucking them out there ;)
