How do I Create buttons in Photoshop

I was trying to create a new Spell button in photoshop using one of the existing templates, so I would already have an entry in the mappedimages folder. The problem is when the image is in-game, Black over runs the circular border surrounding the image. If anyone can point me to a tutorial or an answer I would appreciate it very much. Thanks and Kudos in advance!

You have no alpha. Alpha can be changed in the channels tab in Photoshop. Open up an existing button to see what it should look like.
