Here's the upcoming Movie's Info "The Hobbit"
I wouldn't mind seeing EA create a game based off "The Hobbit" but, I doubt that it would be Modder Friendly considering how C&C3 & C&C RA3 came out. So what do you Guys & Gals think?

Yes

I don't care if it's bad are does a lot of lore bashing, as long as it's moddable and fun to play like the rest of the bfme series, I don't mind :D

Maybe some other company than EA should try making it.

Also, while I wouldn't of course mind if they made such a game, I doubt the hobbit's story makes for a good RTS

Kill those who say it shouldn't be modable. Overall, though, I'm against a new BfME.

Since the BFME Series EA has changed the Sage Engine, by doing so they have made modding a living hell. Look at Command and Conquer 3 for Example. I thought it was a good game but, it's a pain in the rear to mod because you have to constantly compile all assets instead of using a program such as finalbig to extract and edit them. It also makes learning to mod more difficult, as beginners can't see how people added a certain ability, unit, ect. I wish EA would make there games as modder friendly as Civilization 4, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, & Fallout 3.

It was the Elder Scrolls IV. But yeah... I wish they were easier to mod. But that's no reason to make them un-modable.

The poll asks ''WOULD it be modder friendly'' not ''SHOULD it be modder friendly''.

That would be pretty cool. Make it like the Elder Scrolls IV, I don't like online RPG's because you have to pay monthly and sometimes you also have to buy the software too.

A The Hobbit RPG sounds pretty good, as long as it's not too focused on stat points and whatnot.

1. I don't care if EA spews out another LotR game or not. Or maybe i do. If they sell the license, somebody might be willing to create a nice game.

2. I'd rather have some support (patch, access to engine) for existing games rather than anything new.

If they were to release a decent SDK I would be happy.

No.

No.

The Hobbit isn't good RTS material (although I guess we do have the Battle of Five Armies), its more of an RPG type of story. What EA would do to it in the "RTSification" process is probably something we shouldn't dwell upon.

As for making it more moddable... lulz. I was CRAZILY surprised when they released the BFME II SDK, EA is RARELY that generous to it's modding fanbase.

I don't think the Hobbit makes for any good game. There aren't a lot of possibilities to deviate from the story, which in itself doesn't contain all that much action.

I really don't mind if they make a crappy rts of it... as long as its moddable, I'm happy. :p
