Hello and welcome to It Came From The Cave forum!

About:

This is a standalone game originally developped in 45 hours for the Global Game Jam 2009, for the Rio de Janeiro location (Fluminense Federal University at Niteroi).

In this game you control a miner who got stuck in a cave (the entrance got obstructed by stones). In order to leave the cave, he sets a TNT at the entrance. The problem is that he is not alone in the cave and he didn't brought much more than one TNT and a lantern. These monsters eat anything that lives, including themsevles. You have to run away from the monsters and let them eat each other (they'll always hunt you, but if you are smart enough, you can make them face each other). Once the TNT explodes, you have to leave the cave before it explodes.

Download:

The very first version of this game is already available at the URL below:
http://globalgamejam...es/it-came-cave

We were forced to develop it with XNA 3.0. So, you need the Framework 3.5 or better and whatever is necessary for any XNA 3.0 game to run.

The download there includes the source code of the game (which reflects the 'finishing a game in 45 hours' requirements).

Features:
-> One monster type (the center one simply spawns monsters).
-> Graphics made by Rubia (our partner)
-> A random map generator made in less tan 45 hours that actually generates good maps :p.
-> A simple AI for monsters that hunts you unless you are behind a wall. Or something on these lines.
-> A couple of bonus sounds created with a Palm Zire 72 and Audacity.

Future Plans:

We want to make:
-> The game portable to other platforms. It should be fun to play it in a mobile while you are in a bus ;).
-> We need to finish some graphics, create more wall and floor tiles.
-> Improve AI
etc...
