For IE, just use Windows Update.

Anyone else given the Safari 4 beta a spin yet? Its like a non-open-sourcified Chrome.
New GUI built off Chromes, tab control like Chromes, most-frequently visited, etc.
Its essentially seems like Chrome with Apple branding and visual flashyness, and Safari's old features as well as some new ones like the ability to select font-rendering, history search, coverflow, etc.

I haven't, and I'm not going to since I didn't really like Safari...
Firefox is the best for me

Firefox, actually. No particular reason except that i've used it for ages and I like it. It's not the best out there and it's got lots of problems but as far as day-to-day browsing I just like the feel of it.

I also have IE, Safari, Chrome and Opera installed for dev stuff xD

Opera. The Linux version does have some problems with the flash plugin though, so I still also use FF (or Iceweasel as they call it). Oh, and because Web Developer, Live HTTP Headers and Tamper Data are ace.

I totally agree...

I use opera and firefox, both at the same time, one per monitor... Don't ask why, I don't know...

Crome has some security issues ATM with user plug-ins that can allow backdoors into your system, i havent checked recently but they may have fixed it.

I use Opera when I can, and IE everywhere else.

Latest Opera 10 now has "Turbo" - its a bit like how Opera Mini works, it sends the request to Oslo, where its compressed before sending back. So, my nets been pretty slow today (think something must've fallen on the line) so I gave it a go, and its currently averaging compressing things by 4.7. So on top of Opera 10's awesome rendering speed, I'm getting my web delivered nearly 5 times as fast and with minimal noticeable difference (some images are quite visibly compressed).
Just a little feature I thought I'd mention for others with slow net, or those who have to watch their bandwidth. Just a pity the uni proxy doesn't like Opera, or I could be saving heaps on Internet credit...

Just tried out the Safari 4 Beta on Vista a few minutes ago. I have to say, at first glance it's not as exciting as I expected. Of course the fact that it passes Acid 3 with 100/100 gave me a smooth, warm feeling inside but yeah...
Overall it looks like a Chrome copy to me and I found the fact that they stuck the tabs to the window border is very annoying. I realise that it somewhat makes sense and saves space, but I believe the stacking of program windows something the OS' window manager should handle, not the application. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it, but I didn't find it cool to handle.

There's an easy terminal hack to move the tabs back to the regular place (if you're using mac; there could still be a way to do it on windows though)

I have to say I can't notice a massive amount of difference between firefox, safari and crome, but I would say they are all better than IE. Safari 4 is my favourite despite some annoying bugs in the current beta just because I'm a sucker for the visual flashiness and the top sites feature really is useful even if it is stolen

If you really want speed, then go for Chrome. IE lacks any kind of advantage (except being the default on Windows).

I'm a Foxer. IE is crap of course. It has improved considerably in 7, which is good as a developer, but as a user it's still not good enough.
I've tried Opera. It seems a high quality piece of software, but it just didn't appeal to me. Also, Firebug (and Webdev Toolbar) are the best :crazed:

I'm also using Chrome to put Google Reader in an "application window", which means I'm also using it for some browsing, since it opens links from Reader in Chrome. I've customised Firefox to appear like chrome (through a Chrome skin, toolbar reordering and shortcuts for search engines).

Firefox does use a lot of memory, but it makes it faster. RAM is much cheaper than CPU power, so that's good, IMO.
