So I've been working with archers, and have spent the last 3 hours trying to puzzle through the issue of arrows.

As you know, for some reason when you export a model with an arrow that is linked to a bone by its name (not binded) It becomes un realistically small...

However if you bind it, the arrow fails to hide in the animation, because it is no longer "part" of the animation.

So, I figured the best way to fix this problem was to do what Rob did in his tutorial, his "Projectile Effect Settings" portion.

This does not work however... The arrow for me still does not hide in the animation while it is linked to the correct bone... (ARROWNOCK)

So, either I'm doing something wrong. Or EA just sucks...

If someone has found a cure for the arrow shrink problem, please inform me. :good:

Strange, I have never had a problem in this area of modeling. I would just use EA's arrow, and not bind it at all (or link). Just leaving it alone works for me :good:

Just so I could see it for myself :good:

This happens whenever I export ANY model with an arrow. I do not understand why it shrinks.

So, it is just smaller? As in constantly? Or is it in the process of shrinking during the animation?

The mesh Shrinks completely, for good. The arrow shows up on the model half its original size.

Wow, never heard that one before........ I am just finding it strange because I have 'created' many archer models and never had an arrow problem. Perhaps your RenX is corrupted? Tried reinstalling?

I'm baffled... For some reason this arrow works (I imported it into my scene and exported it, worked fine.) But the ones I import directly from the w3d files don't work...? :good:

I guess I'll just import this arrow for every model :p

Previously, whenever this kind of thing tended to happen, the answer was always just to resize the arrow by a factor of however much it was shrinking. I never had the problem though, so never did it...

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

With my fire arrows I mean that something different.

What I am doing is making a new gondor archer attack anim. So I made the new anim fine, just made the arrow and fire arrow hide in the animation. But the fire arrow floats way the heck in the middle of nowhere...? (in w3d viewer when running the animation to a unit)

Have you checked the links between the firearrowtip and the rest of the skeleton? The pivot could be way off.
