When you open up the W3D.big, there are a great deal of .w3d files. These are the model files that you're looking for. You will notice they have names like guaragorn_atka.w3d. The skn and the skl files (model and skeleton) are there too. For Aragorn you would find them as guaragorn_skn.w3d and guaragorn_skl.w3d. So in summary it goes like this for each file in w3d.big:
{model name}_{model type}.w3d
Model name refers to the unit, so let's say aragorn again, it would be guaragorn.
Model type refers to what it is. There's a lot of these: there are the model files themselves (skn), skeletons (skl) and everything else (atka, atkb, idla etc) are all animations.
And w3d is simply the file type.
So therefore Aragorn's standing still animation file would be called something like
guaragorn_idlb.w3d
Hope that helps

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.
