why whenever I open a w3d file this happens

The SKL file of the model needs to be in the same folder as the file your opening.

Basicly when you import the Skn, it searches for the skl that was used when exporting it, Some models use other models skeletons so be carefull.

If you know what your doing you can find it out in "W3D Dump"

My solution, I have all the w3d's extracted in a reference folder under "BFME junk"

mine is BFME II : ROTWK and the skl is in the same folder

We cannot explain it any easier. The model your trying to import must have the correct skeleton for the model.

Press PRTSC and paste into Paint, save as a JPG.
