This was my first real scratch modeling attempt. This took a really long time to get just right, alot of fiddling. I was unhappy with the lack of detail given to Gandalf the White's staff in perticularly BFME1, haven't checked the second game yet. So I decided to try and make it as realistic as possible. It's fully functional in the game. Let me know what you all think. :p

Staff looks great, and to save you some time: The BFME2 model is exactly the same.

Thanks, I'll try and rework the skin to look better. Maybe give him a new sword also.

To be entirely honest, this was a waste of time for ingame purposes. In an actual game, you will NEVER be close enough to gandy to even notice that amount of detail. The same effect can be achieved as well, and in some cases even better, through a good skin on the design of the staff as it was. I mean, how many polies is the staff itself? Who needs that much detail in a game where all you are going to see is a little blur where the end of his staff should be.

But as an artistic standpoint, it looks very good. You should go about making the rest of him look as good as his staff. ;)

That's the paradox of modding .

What the hell is the point of posting just a picture..... then disappearing......

Your pretty much saying, "Hey look at what I did, you may or may not want it. But either way I just thought I'd show you a picture of what I have and you dont...."

SOOOOOO lame, I had looked everywhere for something like this cause it bothered me to, only to find out that someone did it, & then decided they werent gonna post a download (no matter how incomplete) just a picture, & then disappear off the planet.....

A download for this would be most appreciated, ^ IMHO you shouldnt showcase something you dont intend to eventually release. Then its just a tease to the ppl who may want it....

Try using that attitude in Nertea's showcase thread and see how far it gets you. Whether a modder decides to release something they showcase is entirely up to them.

Mostly true, but you may see the details on a high enough resolution.
