I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

Anyway, my idea is: the basic weapons could be grayish, rusty colored like the swords they gave to the people in Helm's Deep, and the upgraded weapons be more shiny, silver or something. For the Uruk-hai, maybe justthe edge of the sword should be silver (visible edge), because they look real badass with their dark blade
As for the flaming arrows - that was mentioned like a month ago - the timer is the idea I like the most. That could cause 25% instant flaming kill against regular units, and extra damage for buildings for ~1,5 minute, with slower fire rate of course. The buildings could catch fire, and slowly burn down unless a builder comes to put the fire out.
That's all for now from my "genius".
Bye!

I think that Flaming arrows should be power activated by an upgrade that you buy from the archery range called 'Arrow Kindle'. When a battalion uses this power, there could be a 'kindle' appearing next to banner carrier (could use scaled down dwarven hearth).

I personally feel it should be an ability similar to Theoden's heroic charge that buffs nearby units. It also would allow for that fire rate reduction for affected units which as I said seems more realistic.

back to forged blades, i think it should just be a shinier looking blade.

1) the banner change!
If this turnes out to be too tricky, then...
2) a small icon, like the icons that indicate horde lvl:
** = 2
*** = 3
**** = 4
X = 5
We could change this into:
X** = 2
X*** = 3
X**** = 4
X***** = 5
...where the X would indicate that the horde has "Upgraded Weaponry" (new name for FB). Unless the small icons are hard coded, but I don't think so. Regardless, the fuggin glow has to go!

When did you see Gondorians running around with broken weapons, though?

It seems a bit like the romantic Roman (I love that alliteration) depiction in movies. They all have the same shield and helmet, and worst, the red cape. In reality they looked way more varying and worse, especially the lower soldiers. Yet, as this is a movie based game and the mod is about that movie, I don't care about shiny new blades.
If you need reality, then you should leave the internet.

Disorganised scum like that are represented by Mordor Orcs.

For factions like Mordor and Goblins, the upgrade could be Scavenged blades and scavenged armor, as there are several depictions of orcs wearing gondorian armor and wielding weapons clearly not of orc make

Gondor was constantly under attack from mordor, that would make trading goods and whatnot harder and very dangerous, and it would be unlikely Dwarven merchants (or where ever they get their supplies) would be willing to travel to Minas Tirith or Dol Amaroth.
Rohan obviously had used weapons. As seen in the battle of helms deep. Hama's son's sword was blunted and cracked, Aragorn says its a good sword as encouragement. They wouldn't be doing much trading either, seeing as Isengaurd burnt their homes and villages.
Mordor and the goblins both had thousands, maybe millions of orcs to arm. Sauron would not go through the trouble to arm them all (with sword, and shield! ) when he had enough to swarm all of middle earth.
Now the only flaw to this is Dwarves, Elves and Isengard. It is very clear that the elves have magical blades and such, (heck if it where up to me, I would make all Elven blades glow when orcs are near). Dwarves, well, they lived in Erebor, etc. places with tons of materials readily available. Dale and Lake-Town would both be lively areas of trade. Isengard made all their blades with the same materials...

Let's just say that every soldier in Gondor was at least partially plate armoured and carrying a good weapon. Their standard soldiers are like that, but their elite units have mithril helmets and gold on their weapons. Their scout units (could be considered the cheapest in terms of what they wear and use, because it needs to be light) are the Rangers of Ithilien.
