Could you not hire in people to completely finish the mod, and set up a way that we, the player-base, could donate to fund the costs?

I'd be happy to pay a little bit, and hopefully others would, too.

You might want to take a better care as well as choose better components for your computer if you aren't already building your own computer. Since as far as I can tell you shouldn't be getting those crashes unless you have errors in the way of your treating and as well as your choice for components and combinations. You might also want to do some cleaning in the HDD, maybe even clean psychically once in a month to eliminate dust inside the box. Dust sure can f*ck sh*t some times. Sometimes pirated material like some certain programs might also corrupt the HDD's, in which usually is the case, let's be honest here.

I usually buy a new gaming rig every year, sometimes it's just upgrading. The point is... I still have my good ol' windows 98 working without any crasher what so ever since I bought it. This making sense due to the great care I do for my rigs, both inside and outside.

As you can see, I am a fully fledged nerd, in which I proudly admit :p

Yeah, Fishbone's right. I still have a Windows 95 laptop working. Only thing "wrong" with it is the scratches on the case. Take good care of your system and components and it shouldn't crash like that. And then backup anyway just in case it does.

I think they'll get to beta 5 at least. I get the impression that after that it's mostly balance work, so I think we can see it finished, if the market doesn't die out.

i'd love to see it go to 4.8, with all the powers complete, and rohan, rhun and harad in the game. it would be like a really good dream.

Well, unless asked to stop I'll keep going :D Everything I learn here just makes me a better modeller :dry: I can't see the mod coming to a complete stop just yet. The rhun/harad faction will make it and the gondor/rohan split might just make it but I would NOT expect any more splits of any kind. The mod has gone way too far beyond it's humble beginnings. And the bigger a mod grows the more loose ends need to be taken care of and the frustration that comes from that is usually the reason why a mod dies.

On a side note I'm so pleased with the work I've done I'm thinking of getting a print shop to make me a S.E.E. T-shirt haha :p

Naz has been busy with work and of course this is the christmas season so it is an extremely busy time for everybody. But even though he has been super busy he has still had the time to do some coding and helping me out with general questions. :p

if i understand correctly, ttandc, then the evil men faction and rohan are most likely to be the last splits? i'm actually okay with that, because i'm sure it would be a lot of work to split the evil men further. i would rather have a complete mod with rohan and no rhun/harad separation than have the mod freeze in production while trying to make the rhun and harad factions separate. it would definitely require a lot of work for all the new heroes, powers, and structures, so i really appreciate that the team is still willing to push the project over the line. best of luck for you guys!

if anything new has been completed, could it be posted on the thread, please? it has been a long time since we have had something to look at. i'm afraid i can't do anything to help, with no coding/modeling/skinning ability at all, but you know me, i'll always have ideas for tech trees, with heroes, units, and most of all powers! merry christmas to you guys, and i hope this mod pulls through.

That's my understanding at the moment. The mod will add those two factions and no more. We just don't have the time and people needed to do anymore. This mod has been going since what? 2006? That has to be some kind of record for mods or something :dry: And that's exactly what we're trying to avoid a half finished mod that is just never completed and left for dead. Too many good mods have done just that and we really want to avoid that.

Didn't nazgul made clear to all of you that he didn't wanted to split Rohan and Gondor, or has he changed his mind, or is he just not so in control anymore??

referring to fishbone, he changed his mind, because the current motw faction is too cluttered with rohan and gondor units.
if you want me to make my 4.8 suggestion thread more relevant, i can remove the rhun/harad separation, and make a tech tree that works for what the mod is aiming to achieve.

In regards to ideas needed for completion of this mod ( in my humble little oppinion :p )

1.We need thoughts and views on the evil men faction which means all it's units, spellbook powers and buildings.

2.We need thoughts and views on the Rohan faction ( if we get around to splitting rohan from gondor, after all the first order of buisness is the evil men faction ;) ) which means all it's units, spellbook powers and buildings.

If after all that is done ( and that is a hell of a lot of work there ) and we still have the will, strength, patience, people with the skills needed to go on then I imagine the campaign will be next. ;)

I can not imagine anything else being done for this mod. It has been many years hard labor for a lot of the team and we have lost a few good team members along the way. Seeing as we all have our own lives, careers, families to support and none of us are making any money from doing this. It is very understandable that this mod can't go on forever so I seriously doubt that anything other than what I mentioned will be done.

After that monstrous task is complete ( no joke, this could all take another year ) I think this mod will be complete and Nazgul would have earned himself a very very very long holiday :)

Just remember to always post your thoughts and ideas in the right thread because when Nazgul goes through the development threads looking for specific factions he will only look in the development threads for those factions. So an ideas not posted in the correct thread will not be seen.

And fishbone yeah I think Nazgul changed his mind because we have added so many new rohan units now that they almost have enough units now to support their own faction :good:
