Most of the time is consumed by other activities nowadays leaving little time to do modding.
This at least is the case for me...

The status is "too much stuff willing to add and thereby lost track of any possible deadline". Open source this..

The actual status is that Rob is gone for personal reasons, and we really don't know whether he'll ever come back. If you or others want to work on the mod, feel free, and send whatever you get done to me or one of the other remaining team members and we can put it out an an official patch. But Rob didn't want anyone else using his assets for other mods without his permission, so until we hear differently we're going to honor that.

Devon has a point. A mod isn't entirely for the players. It's a personal recreation of how BFME should be to the author. Even if it is so popular, that doesn't mean we should just take charge and continue the mod. Feel glad that it is one of the few that is excellent and playable. Most mods never reach this level. Yes, it is incomplete, but that does not make it any less awesome. We try to avoid tampering with people's personal works of art unless it is absolutely necessary.
If you would like to see changes, learn how to mod yourself and make those changes. Just do not expect to publicly announce them, since it is not within permission of the author to do so.

I mean, I have no problem with public additions to the mod as is, Kwen. But Rob expressly did not want people just ripping the RJ assets into their own mods, so I'm sticking to that.

Yeah, and I agree with that entirely.

Well if that's the case he can't finish it and he lets nobody finish it .

I think you misunderstand. If you or someone wants to try to finish it, that's fine. If it's decent quality we'll even make it official. But what's not okay is just taking all of the elves (for example) and sticking them into another mod, because Rob expressly did not want that.

Could you tell me what were the things on the to do list and what are the biggest problems...

The biggest thing by far was getting Mirkwood fully functional. They needed buildings and then they were good to go. General bugs were here: http://forums.revora...06-bug-reports/
