Hi guys !

The first thing that I have to say is ... exscuse me for my english. I'm french.
I came to this forum because it's the best that I've ever seen. After two years, I've decided to register :-)
In France, BFME community is about to die ...

I come here to present you my mod. It's just a new INI file, so it wouldn't be difficult to install :-)
I would want to receive some advices, so that I will be able to make my mod better.
Thank you very much, it will just take a few minutes to play my mod and to tell me back what you think about it.

------------This mod is for BFME2-ROTWK-------------

The most important modifications that I've done are :

- new heroes for Goblins, Mordor, and Elves.
- Saruman and Gandalf are now very powerfull wizards ( new powers, new appearance, and a new primary attack for Saruman, wich is a fireball.)
- Isengard, Mordor, Goblins, and Angmar can't respawn their heroes (except Saruman.) I've done it because those heroes are very powerfull now.
- don't play with Dwarves and Angmar, nothing have changed for those factions. ( I'm working on Dwarves, but Angmar will stay as it is, because I really dislike this faction.)

Sure, There are much new powers added to others heroes ( Elrond, Faramir ... ) but if I write a list, it should be boring to read. I've also changed armors ( some heroes have their own armor ), and many things else.

Thank you very much, I'm waiting for your comments :-) Give me your advice about the cost of heroes, tell me if one faction is too much powerfull, tell me if some heroes are stronger than they should be ... etc

Bye guys !!

nice to see a new mod, downloading now and will reply what i think.

BTW: It is kinda dangerous to set youre mod up with the ini.big. I prefer dont touching the file. Maybe next time you should set your mod up with the -mod command. If you dont know how to do this, Bart has made a nice tutorial on the3rdage.net.

I don't understand why you say that it's dangerous to set up my mod with the ini.big file. It's dangerous for you to play with ? I've seen the "-mod" command in others mods, but I don't really know what's better with that.
I thought that it was necessary for the mods which works with more than a new ini.big file.

"I prefer dont touching the file" ... You mean that you won't play my mod ? The only bad thing that should happen using a new ini.big file is a game crash. The one that I gave to you is okay. There won't be any problem with it.

( Sorry for my english ... ! )

I always use .big files for anything I am giving somebody else, but I'd never name one ini.big that would be quite confusing to work with ;)

Just put your .big file (and name it whatever you want) in your %appdata/My Battle for Middle-earth Files folder. Then take your BFME shortcut and edit the target to have -mod YourMod.big on the end.

It goes from this:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm)\lotrbfme.exe"

To this:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm)\lotrbfme.exe" -mod YourMod.big

The main advantage this has over simply editing the big file is that yo ucan have multiple mods on your system at a single time.

I used to be {AE}Manveru, if that rings a bell.

thank you Manveru!
That was exactly what i was meaning. I have a mod on my computer so if i do it on youre way NOFX i must always replace the ini.big with the old and the mod file. With the mod in mybattleformiddleearth2 you can play more mods with new shortcuts

Okay, I understand what you mean. I think I'm going to work by this way, it's better.
Your french is good Yarrum ! Except that "problems" is "problèmes" in french ;)
Very hard to learn french, good luck !! I guess that french grammar is difficult to understand for english people. However some words are the same in french, it just sounds different !

Bonne chance :p

Thank you for all man_of_gondor. The3rdAge is a great community and has a very high level in modding, I have to work hard !!

( I saw the section "Articles" where we can post "codes" to help some people who should be interested by our ideas. Do you think that I can post my own article in this section ? I use a code in my mod wich should help some people. )

If it's not already in the list, you can give it a try to write a code tutorial. But which code are you talking about?

I'll try to explain it with my own words :

It's a code wich allows some units to follow an object. As example, one or more eagles follow Gandalf but they are not selectable. So they can't be controled by the player.
The code allows those "slave units" to respawn after a duration, or not. If we want them to respawn, they'll respawn near the object.
We can change the respawn time and the number of slave units who follow the object.

I hope that you understand my english ;)

EDIT : Those units can attack all ennemies in a radius surrounding the object.
We can change the value of the radius.
