Marine Prowler Squad (Night Lord Claw)
Notes: These guys are incredibly crazy. I know Chaos marines usually are, but chances are, these guys suffer from everything. Schizophrenia, paranoia, hallucinations, OCD, split personality, you name it. Not sure if this will be a challenge or a walk in the park when it comes to acting, hope you don’t hate me very much for them By default, they whisper their lines, but they do occasionally get carried away… miles away. Most of the times they scream or otherwise change their tone will be marked. Feel free to improvise if you see the opportunity.

Notes: Pretty much the same as the above, except he doesn’t actually whisper his lines because he wants to stay concealed. He’s long since stopped spreading terror through lurking in the shadows; he wants his very presence to strike terror into the enemy.

Chosen Squad (First Claw)
Notes: Much like the Night Lord Prowlers, these guys suffer from pretty much every mental condition imaginable. They have very sudden mood swings from line to line, and I have marked them appropriately; once again, the actors should feel free to improvise if they see fit. The only difference in terms of acting is that the Chosen squad has a more hissing voice, compared to the whispers of the Prowler squads. A couple of scripts are iconic for the Night Lords, so I’ve kept them unchanged from the Prowlers. The difference will be in the actual way they’re being spoken.

Rhino
Notes: The rhino driver is sneaky, cynical and tactical. He enjoys the cover of darkness. He's unlikely to be happy about being aimed at the heat of the fight without good reason. He's snooty about who he carries in his vehicle, not just any run of the mill chaos marine is good enough, regardless of orders or tactics. In fact he's more likely to come up with his own plan, usually one preserving him from danger, and follow that than follow orders. Yet when things go well, he's usually first in line to claim credit. Other things to keep in mind..

1) Keep each line to a max of, say, 40 words. No need for run-on sentences.
2) Single worded lines like "Acknowledged" or "Yes" are ok here and there but please use infrequently.
3) When spelling I word that is VERY hard to say verbally please try to break the word down so the voice actor who may not know War40k fluff/codecs can say it. There are factions in War40k that have names that are bizarre so the voice actor will need to understand the word and how to deliver it. ie. Macragge [pronounced "Mac - raaj"]
4) No need to put the scripts in quotes "".

Also to clarify the above:

Capture = when the squad or unit is commanded to go to a Strategic/Criticial/Relic point to commence the capture of it.
Capped = when the squad or unit has successfully captured such a point.
Charge = when the squad or unit issues a mighty battlecry before heading into combat so as to inspire fellow troops/allies and demoralize the enemy.
Combat = when the squad or unit is directly right in the fray/center of the battle and ushers a comment about the situation basically taunting the enemy.
Under_Fire = when the squad or unit finds itself being attacked by the enemy but taking real minor damage.
Damage = when the squad or unit is being hurt light to moderately by the enemy (for a squad, this is before morale is broken).

If you have ANY questions about anything above fire away..

ie. Unless you are familiar with the Dawn of War game mechanic re: capturing and capping map points such points giving extra income and strategic supremacy to the player when a squad or individual unit commences capturing the point then finishing the capture. Such voice scripts are meant for this part.

ABILITIES
Always assume a unit/squad's abilities will be of two kinds:

1) provide a voice script of what a unit would say when using a targeted ability to damage enemy units
2) provide a voice script of what a unit would say when using a self-use ability to protect self or nearby fellow/allied units

ie. even if the Commissar could, say, call an Orbital Strike that targets a local area on the battlefield which hurts all enemies near to the affected zone a generic Commissar script could say: "Perish you unworthy filth!" The key is to be somewhat generic with both those ability types mentioned above. This will cover many possibilities.

For fluff (i dunno about balance) have a few suggestions:
-Remove the Defiler. though it's hinted that Kreig Acerbus' warband is a bit more on the corrupt side, the Night Lords don't seem to court the warp gods so actively as to bind daemon-engines. dreadnoughts prob also fill the tactical niche
-Add Daemon Prince, a la Krieg Acerbus and (sort of) The Exhalted. Maybe color the red skin a more bat-like bluish black
-Make Barracks able to train Prowlers and Raptors right from the start at the same cost... so a middle ground req cost between more expensive tac marines and more inexpensive raptors to reflect the NL's weak numbers and love of raptor cults.
-Frag grenades replaced by Screamer Grenades (no real modeling difference) that do lots of morale damage only.
-The icon bearer be replaced by a Dark Techpriest. IG techpriest model with a black robe. If remodeling is an option, maybe replace his axe with a set of Wraith's long metal claws. Deltrian of the 10th Company was described has having a black robe, gold facemask set in a permanent grin, spindly metal body, various sharp cutting bits, and maybe hovering
-Terminators and Chosen should be very powerful but hardcapped like crazy (Atramentar and 1st Claw)

Haha, going strictly by Soul Hunter, you would have one artificer slave(Septimus) on the field. The NLs are really down in the dumps when it comes to supply and followers. Krieg Acerbus might have cultists, because his warband is more generally "chaosy", but we never see any. Acerbus also has a network of psychic relay stations (infiltrated?) on different worlds, which suggests formidable manpower and resources, but that seems to be the exception among warbands. It seems to vary a little, Halaskar's warband might have a moderately decent support staff but the Exhalted's warband is austere to the point that its a big problem Uzas keeps killing his serfs.

But realistically, say, start with one Dark Techpriest. Very fast builder hero. also weak in health (Deltrian goes down pretty instantly when he's attached by one Atramentar). If Dark Techpriest remains alive, he should also give a global bonus to vehicle build speed later in game. If you want to be fluffy, he must be alive to build Dreadnought.

I would combine builder/cultist into a 2-man Artificer Slave squad trainable at the HQ (using the IG sergeant model in NL colors). Hardcap at 2 squads. Can capture points and build, but bit more slowly than Dark Techpriest. Sergeant unit should be 1 servitor, which allows the squad to repair. For balance, maybe let them infiltrate or place dark auspexes at some point.

For fluff, I'd suggest replace Obliterators with Beserker squad. Also, let NL build hardcapped 1 Rhino from the HQ right from the start to balance only having only those 2 Artificer Slave squads. The Rhino is to scout and harass.

Last, code-wise would it be possible to give some special bonus for attaching Lieutenant to Chosen squad? Assuming we're treating them as First Claw Champion (like Talos, basically) and First Claw respectively. Maybe some sort of synergy like SM Chaplain and Grey Knight squad

Btw, I've noticed a lot of Space Marines chapters really fear when they know Night Lords are working in an active operating area yet everything is mostly about the main CSM Marks and Black Legion (which most marines don't really fear as much). Something about those Night Lords...
