hi, I have a problem too. I installed Contra but when I try to run it (press "install and launch" in the contra launcher) I get this error.
I dont think the first two options are to blame... so does that mean that my pc is too old to play Contra, eventhough ZH runs perfectly well? what are the minimum requirements for Contra anyway?
my ZH version is 1.04

Try starting from a fresh install. Uninstall generals and delete the directory. Then reinstall.

It is common error cause by many things (usually related with corrupted mod files which the game cannot compile).

Possible reasons:
- Other mod files
- Corrupted Contra download

Possible solutions:
- Clean your ZH folder of any mod file (if you don't know how, you need full uninstallation and reinstallation) before installing Contra
- Try install Contra manually (and run ZH as usual once the mod is installed)
- Redownload Contra mod

NOTE: If you show me the picture of your ZH folder, I might be able to take a look.

You sure you Zero Hour is up to date(Version 1.04)? Try go to CD (named GeneralsZH1), open Autorun and then click on Check for Updates and if it finds any update, install it.
Playing Games:
Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour: Contra006/007 Mod
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (Join the Danish WoW network on WoWi.dk)
Assassin's Creed

I also get a similar error. I am using the First Decade without any updates. I have tried reinstalling it several times (Though I've never used a mod before), redownloading contra 007, and manual install. I am operating under Vista. Any suggestions?

What i know is: The best system for Contra is XP, and don't use the First Decade version of general, ZH, get the separate version, because i don't think it is 1.04version and you can't upgrade to it, Contra need version 1.04. I have no comment on how well will contra work in Vista, i never done it.

I run Contra in Windows 7 with TFD, and it works fine... Just always use manual install and multiple directories to keep vanilla... I had up to 6 mods installed at the same time at some stages.

Try to reinstall Zero Hour. Then reinstall Contra 007. It should be OK. And do you have the latest patch (1.04)?
