I'm a budding scripter and I've used lua scripts before but ive never had to compile them

i understand that the lua files in uaw are compiled, so i downloaded the lua tools

i used "luacvt file.lua out.lua" to fix the lua/lup and extra number issue, then used "luadisasm out.lua ->out.txt" to disassemble the file (which is an object file?)

the out.txt is empty, and i'm at a loss as to how to edit these files

can anyone help me out?
