Hey, hopefully ya'll can help me out. I've noticed with the SEE mod that when you surround your base with walls the computer player will not attack your base any longer. I assume it is because the SEE mod was made that only siege weapons can take down walls.

I would like to know how to disable that or how to fix this issue?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

You do know that in vanilla bfme2 ONLY monster and siege weapons could take down walls and gates? So it's not something we changed, the game works perfectly for others, perhaps you built them in some strange way that made them glitch. Welcome to the forums btw! :thumbsupsmiley:

Well, to explain further: Whenever I build a wall that completely encloses all my buildings the computer player just stops advancing and sits at their base. If I destroy a section of my wall so that there is an opening to my base, then they start coming. The computer player has siege weapons but does not use them against the walls. It's pretty weird. I don't think I've built the walls any strange way...I usually start building them against a hill or something on the map and stretch the wall to another hill to block out the enemy. I didn't think that was too odd of a thing to do and that most people do the same thing.

You are right, I've notcied this too and there must be an explanation as it doesnt seem to affect all maps... We'll investigate it while working on this new version of the mod. I'm sure there is an explanation and fix

Yeah, it would be nice to find a fix for it.

From what I read here (http://www.gamefront...tended-edition/), this SEE mod makes "Walls, Wall Hubs and Wall Upgrades are now only attackable by siege and structural damage dealing units. This includes removal of the annoying bug that caused melee units to attack catapults on walls."

Although I definitely agree with this modification, I would like to try setting it back to the way it was and seeing if that will fix the issue until the new SEE mod version is available. I've been going in and trying to see how the code in the "walls" files have been changed but I don't really see anything that stands out. I'm wondering how it was changed so that I can change it back and see if that works.

Thanks, I appreciate the fast responses. I also appreciate this SEE mod - I think it's awesome!

I'm not sure it's an issue with the walls. Sounds more like an AI issue to me. If you've sealed off your base and the AI uses some sort of attack value targeting, meaning they target resource buildings first. The units won't move from their base until there is a clear path to their most valued target. Sounds like gates and walls need to have a value with the AI

That makes sense. Do you happen to know where you can change the AI values?

We wont make any "fixes" for previous verions of SEE as 4.5. SEE dc will function properly though, rest assure of that.

I see that version 4.5 is available for download here: http://see.the3rdage.net/media.htm

Does that mean if I download that, and install it, it will replace my previous installation and the AI will be able to attack my walls again?

If that's true, what other good stuff comes with version 4.5?

Nah, what we mean is that the team is making SEE DC. (not available)
Which will be different to SEE 4.5. (available)
