Well Hos, the problem with ignoring the US's issues is that... wellll... it's almost impossible. It doesn't seem to matter where you are, the issues of the US seem to be on everyone's minds. "The Us wants to reform its healthcare! Sodding yankies!" "Joe Biden steal speech? No good voodoo bout' da' man-fox!" "Queen Lateifa got shot in the face? Blimey! I aught' to ring mum and 'ell her" Then again, I live in America, so I hear nothing but complaining.

Think about this, do you really think the targets were only Iraq and Afgan... Isn't oddly convenient that they both lie east and west of Iran. Who is the real target?

I've been thinking that myself, for years now.

As for an actual war with Iran, I think Obama will try everything to avoid that. He really seems to like sanctions.
Say what you want, but all these sanctions are destroying the Iranian economy. Eventually, we might see the people get pissed enough to rise up and overthrow the government.

I'm not getting my hopes up though, as the nuclear program is currently a source of pride for the Iranian people.
I wonder how long it will take before they decide they would be better off without it?

It would have been the best scenario. Attacking would justify mass-murder of dissenters in Iran, even though one might expect some to rebel before that happened. Right now the troika of khamenei, Ahmadinejad and the Basij militia runs that nation, spiders with webs in every business and money-pot there is. They spend that money on increasing their power and suppressing their opposition. But it is rumored the Ahma and Khamenei are duelling for power, and the economic sanctions are hurting the economy. The less of an economy Iran has, the less money the dictators are able to use for their own maintenance and maintaining loyalty. Give this a year or two and change is bound to happen. Might even happen in the election i march.

Change? Sounds like a ritual black magic Obama chant to me... You may be surprised on how dully consistent things will remain for quite some time.

Strange how quick that tune changes once you can't afford food. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is pretty accurate about those things.
But I suspect Iran is in a tougher place since they've been antagonizing the arabs for quite some time, which leaves them with very little support beyond what they can muster on their own.

But I've never been able to afford food. Just more people will join me with that soon... but luckily I'm the better thief. I can say that since you don't know the Pasidon...
