hmm. i dont think that would pass muster. it would go against already established canon. the MC80b was described as an Interim cruiser having similar lines to that of the standard MC80. the Republic-class Destroyer wasnt even a Mon Cal Shipworks design, and doesnt have the aesthetics of a luxury liner converted for warfare.

allow me to rephrase my statement
the RSD is made by a different corporation then the MC-series, Rendili Star Drive, the firm behind the Victory-class Star Destroyer. this, combined with the fact that the RSD was designed by Walex Blissex, the designer of the VSD, leads me to believe that the design is a Rendilli design. i do not believe that the RSD is of the same series of ships that are the MC-series. the Mon Cal Shipwrights wouldnt have developed such a warship, and simply given the design to Rendilli, even as a subcontractor. while yes, there are some Mon Cal influences on at least the Hull of the vessel, it is still reminiscent of the Victory and Imperial class Star Destroyers, with its wedge-shaped hull, something that prior to the Legacy comics, was uncommon in Mon Cal Warship design.
i dont believe this was a joint design either, as something like that probably would have been mentioned
in addition, the name of the class does not fit with the other Mon Cal designs not using the Alpha-numerical MC-## classification. a Mediator is basically a negotiator, a Viscount is a junior Aristocrat. a Scythe is a farm implement that can be used as a weapon. a Republic is a type of State with a representative government.

is there an option for polling in some threads? i want to go back to my new rebel/nr and new imperial ships, and see what the rest of the fans want and not just me.
