as the title says how do you go about playing this mod online? i want to play with some freinds, i use gameranger for bfme but it doesnt support mods.

You could try tunngle, it's a bit more mod-friendly.

Try Hamachi, it works fine for me.
All you have to do is to get all involved computers to have hamachi, then one can create a network.
The other can then join that network.
If all computers have the same mod, then you run the mod, and click multiplayer, then network ingame.
You should then be able to play.
