Sited in the Colonies, Commenor is a bustling, arid trade world. Its surface is covered with starports and landing strips for the tonnes of cargo that arrives and leaves, bound for the Core and the Rim. The planet swiftly became independent after the Battle of Endor, but its strategic location means that it's unlikely to stay that way for long.

From an initially defensible landing zone, attackers must choose if they want to push up a ramp onto the upper landing strip, or move out onto the open ground below the small clusters of mismatched city buildings.

Posted Image Posted Image

Commenor's varied architecture is the result of its trading heritage; a melting pot of many different races and influences. Of course, both the Empire and New Republic would like to make their mark on the planet...

Posted Image Posted Image

Whoever takes control of this world, it will certainly assure them dominance across the Trellen Trade Route and easy access to the Slice.

Ladies and gentlemen, that is how you do a news blitz. We gave it our all and the voting is out of our hands. You'll find out how we did in a couple of days.

What is that on the ramp behind the tanks in the third picture? Also did the cockpit units of the AT-ATs get redone or have i just never looked at them that close before?
Sorry to scrounged for scraps, but i just can't help it... guess i'm a jawa at heart

The vehicle on the ramp is a Mobile Defense Unit, or MDU - basically a vehicle-based build pad.

Is this game mappable? That would be sweet if it was. Those screenshots look great, and I love the Star Wars you put into this. ;)

Both the galaxy and the individual planets are mappable to some degree, yes. Planet sizes/types can be chosen or modelled and placed in the galaxy. The galaxy model itself can be edited. Individual planets can have two different maps, for space and land tactical combat. It's somewhat similar to the way Total War works except that the space and land maps are not position-dependent, they are just linked to the planet of choice. Currently we have some duplicated maps because we have many, many more planets than maps available.

and i imagine that In-Universe, there are probably a lot of planets with similar environments so its not that big of a deal to me.

as an aside, how goes progress?

Much better than we've been reporting.  I'm in the middle of a major project, but once that's off to testing, I'll work on some news.

Yea!!!!! more testing :thumbsupcool: :thumbsupcool: :thumbsupcool: :thumbsupcool:  in the lull of testing the mod. i've gone back to trying to play other mods and to be honest... It's really difficult to do after being exposed to all the super cool things I can do in your mod. Also, i'm finding that you mod is one of a very few where the small craft actually do know how to "run a CAP". Meaning protect the larger ships from a concerted enemy small craft attack.

I'm very very happy that your hard work is progressing well and as i already said.... can't wait to test more!!

Again, thanks greatly and a very well deserved "well Done" :smile2ap: :smile2ap: :thumbsuphappy: :thumbsupcool: :ninja: :ninja: :ninja:  ooooo, ninja smilies... we likeses thems lol :ninja:

Thats so true. It's kind of hard to play other mods now. The only one that iv'e found that looks as good is ROTM.

Yep, this is pretty much the best mod out there. First time I played it over a year ago I felt like I had died and become one with the force. It's seriously that good. I wish the big publishers cared about games as much as the modding community does.

I say go ahead and give up now, it'll save time being too disappointed in the future.

lol...wish...the key word is wish :p. Though, I think people who game are getting fed up with the lackluster titles and endless sequels, at least the ones who aren't zombies. Microsoft was first to feel the wrath of people who don't want shit shoved down their throats, and I don't think they'll be the last. People will just start playing more mods, and games like Star Citizen when it releases, (here's to hoping they can pull this off!) I don't think I've bought a big studio game for ages. Youtube and projects like this have opened people's eyes to a greater world of possibilities in gaming.

Major news update coming soon. The mod just got a whole lot better. We got a massive upgrade to test recently.

If only. Unfortunately that takes a little too much reverse-engineering for us.

I have a cousin who might be interested in helping...he loves games like this and he's worked software programming for MS, Intel, Boeing, a search engine called Blekko, among others. I could see if he likes the mod and would be interested in learning enough about the inner workings to be able to modify said executable. I also think he would relish being the god among men who figured out how to do this.
