I'll make this brief...

 

Work on Erebor is closing in, and the overall load will be about half of that of Moria. One crucial aspect is the redesign of the look... mostly for units. Matias made some awesome new dwarves for SEE that will be most fitting for this mod - probably as skirmish/scout units. But I'd also like to catch the look they have in the Hobbit. However, it's very hard to grab any good screens. Luckily Games Workshop seem to have plotted out the design of two sets. One lighter ("Erebor Warriors", bottom pic) and one heavier, that they call "Grim Hammers". Does anyone know is that's all GW or if it's an actual Tolkien concept?

 

I'm thinking they could replace the Phalanx...

In The Horse Lords they're the Elites compared to the Iron Hills Guardians & Phalanx ( available at level 3 Barracks), I have the Grim Hammers ( The Elite Guardians ) modeled but they just need to be mapped then binded, I'd be happy to share them with S.E.E. .... if you approve of the quality .

I can confirm that the Grim Hammers are heavy, elite soldiers and are WETA designed.
The Dwarven Warriors are Games Workshop designed to fill a light role.

I'm thinking they could replace the Phalanx...

Would you like me to make a seperate model to the Phalanx SKL or would you prefer the Guardian, mine is going to be to the Guardian.

And Bofur can you send e some, basically need some on the helm and chest pieces, since those are my trouble areas at the moment. 

And Cool looking Concepts, can't see some of those being in the film though...

Bofur, yeah I got the Blu-ray, but the warriors swoosh by so fast. Hard to find good screens... Also I'm not sure GW "made up" the light version. From what I can see in the movie, there seems to be some variety in gear even though most of them look like the "Grim Hammers", only wielding different weapons....

I got some good scans from the WETA Art & Design of the Grim Hammers. Nazgul and RoR, I'll put them on your respective private forums.

RoR, I can't say wether we'll use models that I haven't even seen... but I'd be happy to check out the model when it's ready for inspection.

Edit: Dark Lord, just checked them out in W3d viewer Guardian looks Great but the Phalanx needs to get the head fixed for him to look great
