SEE brings you, the Erebor Guard!
These sturdy guys mean business and will replace the dreadfully ugly "Warhammer" style Guardians and the "cartoony" Phalanx...

Something completely different from Valaquenta. Let me find the words for describing this beauty in a quote from the Lord of the Rings: "Fully armed and filthy" ;D

Roster
- Khazad Guard would remain as the limited elite troops.
- Erebor Guardians (this model), replacing the dreadful "Warhammer" models.
- Erebor Phalanx (this model, using spears), replacing the vanilla phalanx model.
- Iron Hills Archers (using Mathijas model), replacing Axe Throwers (that will remain as Battle Wagon crew option only).
- Iron Hills Warriors (also Mathijas model, wielding swords, axes and shields), replacing the Dale Swordsmen as early game skirmish troops.
- Dale Archers will be summons and Battle Wagon crew only.

you're not going to put dwarves without helmet, battle of Azanulbizar type?

I think he means they were limited in terms of armor itself at the Battle of Azanulbizar. They lost their homeland and with it their awesome forges. By the time of the War of the Ring, the Dwarves had everything running smoothly in Erebor so they were "properly" armored. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

Yes, these guys will have randomized gear, and some will be without helmets =)

Games Workshop has the Grim Hammer Captains helmetless. But I like having the randomised gear. ;D

If you look at the movie again, you'll see the dwarves of Erebor in the start. They all wear a full armour set, so they have helmets. As Rider of Rohan points out, this is because they have their forges in Erebor set up and are doing well.
The SEE mod is set during the War of the Ring, which is 220 years after the Battle of Azanulbizar, and 60 years after the events of The Hobbit takes place. It's safe to assume that they are making armour again, with helmets.
Besides, I watched the Battle in the movie just now. Pretty much "all" the dwarves wear a helmet, with the exception of the leaders and a couple of others (it's a battle, people can lose their helmets).
I don't know if I like the idea of random gear for them to be honest. They are very uniform, like Gondor, and I think they look best when they're "identical". I often find that a odd randomization happens when you suddenly have one guy without a helmet or shield. Different helmets, different shields = cool. No helmet, no shield = not so much. Same with capes. But I can wait until I see them in-game to make a conclusion, I'm merely talking from my own experience.

Remove the helmet and you will suffer the consequences .

Okay, then I vote no helmet. I wasn't sure what Valaquenta had made. And Lauri brings up some really good points.
But I am still interested in the spear and the hammer. ;D
