I had a friend working on this model in ZBrush, but as he went away for a while and also reported not feeling too good atm, I didn't want to nag him about progress and details of this highly anticipated model for Moria (goblin) faction. This combined with my desire to learn modeling via ZBrush I finally got the hang of things to a doable extent. I can't say I master the program in any way as it's quite complex for a modeling newbie like me, but I've learned enough to sculpt what I want in the same manner I sculpt in clay IRL. Here's my first ever model (except a practice round altering a male human into Azog look) - the Weta style Great Goblin from The Hobbit movie. Model is not yet complete with crown, staff and the piece of leather around his waist. But the body is finished =) Poly count is staggering 1,4 million, but I tried a reduction to 12k which still looked very good. I am aiming for 4-8k in game and it should be ok-ish as it's still just one model and not meant for a horde.
Crown and staff will hopefully be completed this weekend, and then I will skin it somehow...
When this model is ready to go in game, I will complete it with 1-3 new goblins with Goblin Town look, and then code them to escort GG on the battlefield as a slaved horde of about 10 units circeling him. That should look and play pretty cool and unique.
