They can of course receive hosting for something original, but definitely not for a mod that is supposed to be a sequel to another active mod, without permission. It's just confusing and reduces the quality of the original mod's name. MO doesn't yet allow custom mods either, so there is absolutely no relation except in false naming and advertising.

They can easily change it.

Pas, are you fucking kidding me now? You want to offer hosting to a mod that rips off one of Revora's biggest projects, just because we 'put them through some trouble'? From what I can tell, they don't have an original product, so what is going to get changed?
This is beyond inane. How desperate to please/find new people are you?
I don't evaluate CnC Guild hosting applications, but I would set a number of prequisites this mod should meet before they can get hosting.

Cool it, zippy. I'm not debating anything. They're obviously new to modding and don't quite understand how presentation works. As in, it's indecent to make sequels to other people's work without permission. I get that, but they don't. Yet, that doesn't mean all their work should just be ignored by us. They just need to be told we can't host this project unless they change a few words, or get permission from the creators. That's it. End of imaginary debate.

If the last 3 digits of the IPs are different then depending the ISP either they share the household but with different PCs either they just share the ISP. A LAN behind a router will gonna use only a single IP for communication, GenKen. Some ISPs (like my previous one) allow switching without routers, via using only a common switch (which will gonna send every PC in the household a different IP from the ISP's range).

Well, i'm glad to see this whole situation resolved.
Next time, before banning people we should have a proper discussion at the Staff forums, so this kind of public discussion wouldn't happen.
We can't have prejudices of any kind around here. If they are kids, we should help them as once we were all kids and the same noobs. This kind of behaviour won't help modding, nor this community.
As the years goes by, modding is becoming a dying art. Unless we all stop acting like we're the elite and the best of the best and start helping people, we won't change the future.

People need to know that there are thousands of mods (or... 'unofficial expansion pack') for Yuri's Revenge. Mental Omega is just one of many.
But there aren't thousands of mods for Yuri's Revenge. There's like a few, really. Just saying.
ModDB does not necessarily mentions all YR mods out there. There might be many others that you may not be aware of. But the word 'thousands' might be too much for it.
