Is there a list on the forums (or can one be posted) showing the locations for recruiting/upgrading all hero units or other unique units (IE: campaign specefic ones) ?

I used the search, but according to that the word hero doesn't even appear on the forum.

Evilbobthebob edit: Here it is, based on our internal documentation. It has been edited for the current release version. However, there may still be discrepancies especially with hero ranks and bonuses provided to troops. Note also that homeworlds may not stay the same in every galactic conquest. Current homeworlds are from the GFFA campaign in v1.2. Let me know if there are any glaring errors

Sweet.

My latest Imperial GFFA runthru I decided that once I secured a basic core for the Empire, auto-resolving raids with 1-2 clone squads from byss at a time until I own worlds to expand, I would get as many heroes up as possible, and assign one to a few to border planets for giggles.

Just a thought, but standardize the list and release one with future releases.

Also, which campaign do all those Rogue Squadron pilots get built in ?
I don't recall even seeing half of them when conquering those worlds, but I tend to mostly do GFFA cause I like starting with few planets.

Oh, for Rohm Mohc, is the Arc Hammer not in the game anymore, or does Mohc need to go to a specefic world to upgrade to it ?
Just curious, since it was in the vanilla game...

The list is standardized, I just didn't include all the internal parameters we have so it comes out a bit chopped up. I expect Ghostrider will try to include it in the manual.

 

Heh, the Rogue Squadron guys probably aren't in v1.2. They'll turn up though ;) If they're in v1.2 it'll be the late-era historical campaigns probably.

 

Yeah the Arc Hammer is gone along with all heroic ships of greater than 1 pop cost, due to heroes being incredibly overpowered with population-free buffed capital ships.

True, although the Arc Hammer was overall weaker, not to mention it's factory ship status made using it in combat rather silly.

In the case of Rogue Squadron characthers, and squadrons in general, is there any way to require that ALL members (or core members) of a squadron be present at the same place to build the squadron ?

I just want to report that tie fighter heroes are not very useful since they don't have hyperdrives. It would be nice to have an upgrade option for them for advanced ties/gunboat squads. Or have their squadron spawned by a respective carrier.

Yeah, and for their cost a Nebulon-B to spawn them would make sense.
But it'd have to be set so loosing the ship doesn't loose the squad.

The lack of a hyperdrive however makes me tend to just garrison them on some world the AI can reach.

 

edit: Prehaps he john could throw up an Imp/Rebel poll on heroes, like with the ships, for discussion of each sides heroes and what not.
I know the team has a plan, but no reason to not get user input early enough to make a difference.

It would probably save alot of fps if certain transports and fighters such as ties did not have hyperdrive and would instead rely on a capital ship to move them instead.

While that is technically possible in the engine, it means that any ship designated as a carrier can take an infinite number of starfighter squadrons with it. We don't want that to happen.

I'd rather stick to a possibility to upgrade them to tie advanced/defender/phantom/assaultgunboat/missileboat (after researching said crafts). It's easier tod do and would stroke my lil heart as an old Tie Fighter player.

Sure the upgrade system could be upgraded itself, but the hero units are neat.

Well if you look at the list only fighters and transports are listed implying to me everything else is gone.
