For those of you that might wonder…
Once again I must apologize for me going AWOL this fall. Those of you who know me, knows that this isn’t the first time I go missing for a period of time. You also know though that I always return sooner or later. I still live by the ambition to never quit this mod, despite all the years of agony trying to reassemble the ridiculously long project. This is a hobby however, and from time to time when it feels more like an obligation than a hobby, it is time to take a break
A strong word of advice – don’t grow up and don’t grow old. From time to time, life just sucks the energy right out of you and I sure do miss the old days, back in school. Not saying school is easy, but at least it’s pretty structured and organized compared to what’s next. Anyway, besides the fact that I had a very sick family member a few weeks ago, my old car basically broke down and my laptop almost gave in at the same time (late summer), I’m fine I guess. It’s just been one of those periods again when modding falls way down the priority list, and even though I should flag before I leave for a while, coming here and chatting with old friends is far to addictive so every now and then I must take a break to collect myself, shift priorities, try to fix things IRL and gather new energy to go back to modding as it is a huge task to do now that I no longer have help with what I dread most, heavy coding. My excellent mappers, contributors and trading partners mean a LOT, but I still have to conquer the darn coding which is hovering above me like a big dragon blocking the sun.
Now, my family member is thankfully better, my old car is sold and I’ve bought a new one, and I’ve done what I can to salvage the worn down laptop. The new car made a big hole in the old wallet though, so I’m not gonna be able to get a brand new PC just yet. Hence I have to go slow on modding (modeling) and not stress the computer too much. I really need and want to finish my models before going back to coding though, so we’ll see how it goes. I think it was my poly heavy modeling in ZBrush that took a toll on the poor laptop that is running extremely hot while modeling.
Anyway, as always I’m not gone, just absent. But I’m slowly collecting myself and starting to put the finishing touches on the Bolg model now. I just need to work in shorter modeling sessions and not several hours like before which apparently stresses my lappie out to the point of boiling.
CU soon guys.
