Buongiorno Edmundos and happy new year! I have been steadily going through one of my old hard drives that I haven't used in an age, during this process I have been periodically saving anything that's not total and utter crap. I recently came across one of my very earliest maps that I presumed I had lost all copies of when my old laptop died. It was a shellmap of Osgiliath with an arseload of camera angles, however the scripting and very map itself were indeed rough, so I've quickly tarted it up and uploaded it to T3A for anybody to have free of permission.

Absolutely beautiful Fudge. Could benefit from a different soundtrack however.

Glad you guys like it! In regards to the soundtrack I couldn't for the life of me find the Gondor theme so in the end I just gave up and went for something remotely exciting. I would also like to add that the video is really laggy for some reason, I can certainly say it runs a lot smoother in-game.

This is great, Fudge, glad to see you again :) especially at 1:08, where that Orc archer gets up from being hit by a catapulted rock as if to say 'tis but a scratch' :p

This looks great. Could do with some editing (it feels overlong in parts), but the scenes presented are really cool.

Also the video doesn't feel laggy to me. I was thinking it was quite smooth. :p

I had intended for each short 'section' to each be an individual camera path, chosen by a random counter each time the map loaded up, including different music depending on whether it was the Mordor side or Gondor side. However through extensive testing of all the methods I know of (some of them very bizarre indeed) I concluded that random scripts will execute identically every time a shellmap loads, so unfortunately I had to compile them into one every long series of shots.

I would say that the video is a little laggy at least, I feel its just a bit slow regarding the walking animations in wider shots.

I do have some other older rougher things as well that I might hopefully be able to tart up. One of which another map which is essentially a complimentary map to this one where instead of Gondor vs Mordor we have a pleasant Rohan village beset by hordes of Uruk Hai - although its incredibly hideous at its present state

This looks really good, well done :good:

Edit: The only thing that could be improved would be a fade in, and maybe a fade out at the end so the shellmap replays (like the Barad-dur shellmap does). Then again, maybe that was your intention. ;)

Very good.

1. Have to agree on the music. It seems off. I just think of Éomer coming to Helm's Deep's rescue. Can't really give a suggestion to another one though..

2. Could do with a fade in at the very start.

3. Even more background fighting sounds.

Really nice shell map. the scene youve presented is awesome. I think the music does need work like others have said. Maybe find one of the sadder Gondor tracks. Also the camera work needs some smoothing. the transitions when turning or entering new areas are jarring and it takes you out of the scene your watching. It has a sort of them park ride vibe to it when it happens.
