i actually haven't played the new version in skirmish, (the.. issues i had getting  any given general to work reliably in a given map back in 006 and 007 left me a little Leary of going though, that again, plus i accidentally deleted my map collection dating back to 2007 in a windows re-install about 2 months before 008 final was released) but im a little frustrated that so far the only one who puts up a legitimate challenge is the Demo General ( and he seems to be a near complete hard counter against the nuke general, or at least against ME as Nuke >.< ,but he crumbles into dust against anyone with stealth-able Def structures as long as you are quick off the mark grabbing as much money to rapid expand as possible) whilst the others ONLY seem to attack with infantry other then scripted events (like the Tank general sending several of his horde of Uber-tanks at different intervals) or start off relatively normal (Tank about 1/3 of the time, Dr Thrax fairly commonly, Nuke unpredictably, sometimes he seems to work and supports armor with artillery and inf, air-force locks up late-game unless i literally give him money, but Granger's always had that issue in vanilla due to his poor economy after he exhausts his supplies, so i can let that one slide XD) then suddenly stop doing anything but sending 1 basic infantry at a time against me.

i Know the Challange is probably not really that high a priority, i was just hoping to hear something either way.

*edit* Said issues was AI opponents randomly simply not oding anything on specific maps, it seemed to be something broken in the ai coding for some of the generals, e.g Nuke would never do anything on a specific map but would work fine on another

*sigh* i guess there isnt :( its really annoying, because the Generals are either weaker then Granger is in Vanilla VH, wihch is aobut 2/3 of them, or they are unremittingly brutal, like demo, thought the only reason he's an actual threat is  his c\bomb trucks/ mortar buggies early game and the couple of terror/ cockroach spam attacks he does. once you are set up, he goes down as easy as everyone else. and as for GLF assault, he barely even leaves his base!

What do you suggest specifically? I can add stealth detectors to enemy attack waves, and also edit enemy AI so that they never run out of money. Challenge fixes will be included in an upcoming patch or full version when they are released.

I'd love to know how you beat Demo General.  He's so unrelenting in Challenge I just can't get past him.

Depends on which general you play with. There are some walkthrough videos on YouTube (https://www.youtube....allenge vs demo)

(...) and also edit enemy AI so that they never run out of money. (...)

Please don't ever do this. Otherwise it's pointless to play a good strategy in a strategy game as it just comes down to masses vs masses because money isn't an issue. So no matter how poor the AI performs there'll always be unlimited new units flooding the field. This just ruins the game. It makes everything the player does pointless as there's only constant struggle but no advantage gained. The AI already maphacks constantly. The game doesn't need any more cheating AI but only a better performing one.

Ideally an AI wouldn't have resource, building and maphack cheats and neither omnipresent vision and control of all units at once. A good AI would also be capable of retreating from a lost battle, supporting certain units with certain units and stop sending units to a position where exactly these units have been annihilated numerous times before unless the threat was removed or the area is secured. It would also try to capture the tech buildings like it does in skirmish or steal them from the opponent instead of destroying them (unless unreachable otherwise). And a good AI wouldn't be capable of instant, perfect micromanagement but tied to the same click delays as a slow / average / fast clicking player would.

I know a lot of that is out of reach for modding. Just saying: No cheats, better gameplay. As much as possible.

You have a point here, but Challenge AI uses such script in original Challenge maps from ZH. There was a script called "Emergency Resources" which gave the AI a small amount of money each time it was running low (which basically means unlimited money). I just want to prevent the AI from getting stuck because the Supply Docks are empty. I assume it is okay since the AI already starts with a built base and more money.
