As you may knew, the topics here in the WotE forum lasted for 8-9 pages. But now there are only 6 pages...

I guess this needs some explaination. You see, not so long ago Rob38 gave me moderator power (I asked for it...) and I decided to use it to make this forum cleaner.

Don't worry, I haven't gone mad. I just want to get rid of some not-useful stuff, like ages-old applications, self-introduction topics, seperate "install problem"-topics, outdated polls, spam, and the rest of such things (you wouldn't believe how many are around...) - I guess we all agree that we have no use for these Topics containing nice artworks, cool ideas and/or lots of screenshots will stay as they are I will also leave "historical" topics (like: old progress reports, the applications of legendary members - such as Caluadan, the decision about Dorwinion to become a new faction, etc.) avaible for viewing for those wishing to learn more about the mod's old days I'll probably close them, though.

The process will likely take a few days, but in the end I'm sure that the WotE will be clean from all mess

PS: to my greatest suprise, about 50-60% of the topics I deleted were about installation problems...

PPS: this is not a killing frenzy, this is an action I've planned quite some time ago, and nobody is going to get hurt in the process

IF YOU EVER HAD A DREAM ABOU A GAME (or more) YOU'VE PLAYED, PLEASE POST IT !

I don't know how is it with you guys, but I have like 2-8 dreams about PC games in a year. Of course, I don't remember each, but there are a couple of the ones I remember:

Roughly 6 years ago, I dreamt about "Kingdom Under Fire" (not the hack'n'slash, I mean the original strategy game) where the heroes discussed the strategy for the final mission (where I was struck). To my greatest suprise, when I tried out the dream-strategy it actually worked...

Some time back, I had a dream about "Warcraft 3". I guess those who played it remember the final scene with Mal'ganis (in the final Alliance mission), but for those who didn't, here's the original:

Mal'ganis: Then you hear the voice of the Dark Lord. He speaks to you trough the blade you wield. What does it say, young human ? What does the Dark Lord of the Dead tell you now ?
<strange whispering noise>
Arthas: It tells me that the time of my vengeance... has come.
Mal'ganis: WHAT ?! He can't possibly mean to-
<Arthas kills Mal'ganis>
Arthas: It is finished.

RE-DREAMT VERSION:

Mal'ganis: Then you hear the voice of the Dark Lord. He speaks to you trough the blade you wield. What does it say, young human ? What does the Dark Lord of the Dead tell you now ?

Guess I was playing too much WotE AND CnC Generals, cos' once I've dreamt about a clash between MotW/USA and Evil Men/GLA. Dunedain Rangers were paradropped from planes, Gondor Knights charged at tanks (and were winning !), but then Easterlings drove them back, then the Rohirrim counter-attacked , but then Saruman and Pallando summoned a tornado together, but during this a small commando team sneaked up to the Evil Men/GLA base and a Gondor Trebuchet hurled a nuclear bomb (!!!) at the enemy Fortress, and while the explosion set off, the game came to an end, claiming that I was victorius...

Once, I was playing with "Dawn of War: Soulstorm" (which is a strategy game about Warhammer 40K) for a while, and in my dream I saw a hero unit titled "Loremaster", and a battalion titled "Modder's Retinue". Then I ordered the Loremaster to be attached to the Retinue, and he said something like "Let our alliance last as long as stainless steel !" - and not only that, the Loremaster was holding a hammer with a book as its head...

About a month ago, in my dream, I met with Tyrael from Diablo II, and he told me that the world is in grave danger, and I have to solve a puzzle to save it. I found myself in an old, ruined temple with five different stone tables - Earthquake Table, Volcano Table, Flood Table, Tornado Table, and World Table. I placed them to their proper places, then a volcano bursted out outside the temple. Fortunately, thick stone doors slammed but unfortunately they didn't do so properly, so the lava slowly but surely filled the place. I climbed up to a column where the World Table was placed. Soon, Tyrael appeared and asked me if I did get closer to the solution. I answered: "Well, no." - "NOOO ?!?" - "Hey, alright, I'll try to do better in the futur- ehh, I mean the past !" (I said this cos' I somehow knew that Tyrael could make time-travel). I'm not sure what events happened after this, but in the end it turned out that the reason behind the disasters is no other person than Albert Einsten, who was angry because the PC games have lost all their originality, plus he hates the Mario series from Nintendo... then I woke up

What are YOURS ?

Despite the belief, WotE is NOT dead. It's just that Kyross (the current Mod Leader) doesn't have much time for modding (college, duh !), and neither do I (I have to work hard in a shop and meanwhile get ready for university). However, Kyross told me that he and Annullus continued working, and got much programming and coding almost or half-done. Not much work done on the new units/heroes so far, but we'll work things out eventually.

Actually, I just consulted with Kyross and we both think that we're going to release Beta 3.9 (or 3.4, call it whatever between 3.3-4.0 ) around Christmas. It will contain Elendil's re-designed heroes, Egalmoth's portraits for the old units and all the bugfixes/balancing Kyross and Annullus made so far.

Most of the work done recently was about coding, bugfixing, balancing, and artworks. But we haven't showed any new models/skins for a long time.

Why, you may ask ?

Cos' we don't have any modeler/skinner !

That's right, folks.

ROCK ON !

As some of you may have noticed, I wasn't too active in the last few days. Why ? Well, complicated question... but the main reasons were:

1.: our electric energy provider, the E-ON company was (is ?) purely f*d up, and there were power-cuts like every 10-15 minutes for two days (yes, seriously).

2.: I decided to start writing stories (I'm working on TWO writings at once: "Creatures of the Night" and "The legend of Dan'Gul"; if anyone is interested in them, PM me). Hey, I didn't become Loremaster for nothin'...

3.: My family is preparing to set off to Italy again... and of course I'm going ! I just love that country !

The journey begins tomorrow, and will last for a week. Expect to see me next weekend !
