Topics I've Started

Films/movies, call 'em what you will

18 September 2007 - 08:00 PM

What are the best three movies you've seen in the last year?

I'd have to say, for me,

3. Flightplan, starring Jodie Foster. A fantastic thriller that goes up and down like a rollercoaster on steroids. Very psychological.

2. Little Miss Sunshine, a bit of an underdog in the world of films. One of the best comedies I've seen in a very long time.

1. The Last King of Scotland, starring Forest Whitaker and James McAvoy. A biopic/thriller of the brutal Idi Amin and his totalitarian rule in Uganda, seen from the perspective of a fictional young doctor. A powerful, shocking film with outstanding performances from all actors and actresses. I would strongly recommend this one.

Elaborate here!

Homosexuality

12 August 2007 - 04:33 PM

I realise that this is an extremely sensitive issue, but I am not probing, I really don't care about this board's members' sexualities. I'm merely asking for an opinion. If you don't wish to leave a comment, feel free, but I would prefer a reason for your vote.

And just to make it worse for the first voter, I'm going to sit on the fence and give a null vote.

A desperate query

23 July 2007 - 10:05 PM

I hate to sound like some five-year-old, but does anyone on these forums actually play Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, or intend to play them when they come out in their respective countries? I imported mine from the US so I got in early!

Just wondering...

Why did you decide to put drop-pods into the mod? They're very much a Tiberian timeline element (think Mission One of TS) and they're a little bit...clichéd. I can understand them being used by the FF as they seem to be, well, futuristic, but even so. Don't get me wrong, I like drop pods, but I wonder.

Mind you, I'm no modder, so my opinion doesn't really count for much.

Anarchism

15 July 2007 - 02:25 PM

Am I right in thinking that anarchism is the rejection of a state (i.e. government)? If so, how can this, in any possible way, be at all viable? I'm looking for an argument from both sides, as I'm relatively uneducated on this particular issue.
