Ground Textures Demonstration.

The video below will demonstrate a beta version of the textures used within this modification for detailing the ground maps.


Some of the images / textures will be replaced and it is not a "final version" with zero bugs.
Demonstrates some of the work already completed and hopefully encourages people to know this mod may indeed see release.

You'd think I would only be using 3dsMax Given I have it and its supported for c&c 3.. Wrong.
Sadly many a model that has been made available for this mod have been in odd formats needing other programs or methods to recover what I could.
Other programs used:
Gmax.. yes it opens up other formats that i cant get open in max strange story but true.
Bryce .. Provided by Daz studios for FREE people.. now why aren't more people using it ?
Sculptris . free again and an odd program not so handy but is okay.
Caligarie Truespace .. Strange program and i didnt like it that much but was free and powerful...

If you have a thought about the game or wish to comment post in this general banter thread.
Making this mod is a time consuming task and one which is fitted around other projects and life.

This thread exists as a way for you the mod player to shape the future of the mod posts made early on are much more likely to be useful
then say posts made when there is a working release.
 

  FAQ 

  • When will a Release be available to play ?

When im ready to release the beta which at the rate I am going at will be roughly 2016

  • What System will be needed to play this mod ?

The same system that's capable of running the game Tiberian Wars

  • How large will the final modification be ? 

The final modification will be fairly LARGE , its ground texture pack which is almost finished is 109 MB , the models ,their textures, sounds ,videos and music all have yet to be completed (although I have finished the menu music )
expect this mod to be about 4-5 gigabytes roughly though it may blow out or shrink depending on enthusiasm and optimisation.
 
     •Why mod tiberian wars when its the wrong time period ?

 

No Object ,Unit or command button will be left unturned that means you effectively are looking at a new game rather then Mod.

However as its a modification it falls under a less violent legal category leaving its developer more free to focuss on making the game rather then chase a billion consent notices and licensed fees to be paid for use of various file formats ,ides and other amazingly complicated and expensive things that would need to be paid if this game was standalone... also im more aware how to mod this game .

 

  • Will this game ever be released Stand Alone ?

No as that would require licenses and all other manner of things including more specialised knowledge that this crew don't have and never plan on getting.

Submission of ideas here indicates that you grant this mod license to use your idea within the mod Sail 7 seas and will not seek compensation for it other then in the credits page listed within this forum granting us the rights to modify your idea to suit the modification.

Stay relevant to the period or go vaguely off topic toward mythical , please note this game does not "have" to be history incarnate.

Your views are important however please reframe from personal attacks .

 

The desired format for posting will include

  • a summary about why your here
  • which unit , object, power, prop, movie or building should be added
  • How strong it will be or its general advantages or abilitys
  • What its weakness is.
  • rough descriptions of other information such as buttons and or random thoughts.

Sail 7 Seas Command and Conquer MOD by {IP}Splat

Hello I used to be in {IP} I made it to mapper status right before the clan changed sites and then my computer got run over by a crazy woman.

That is why you may have noticed I wasn't around, Now lets get to the details of the mod and what it will and will not be :

 

MOD's general AIM is to be a moderately frivolous entirely historically inaccurate description of 1700's way of life.

 

There has been three sides slated for production but truthfully I have a lot of work to do and its likely you wont see this mod completed anytime soon  the following sides are described below

  1. English Team for all those HMS ships most people always think of when the hear the word pirate
  2. Spanish Team for The Oversize monstrosity army and variety
  3. Asian Coalition  for a mixture of China / Japan ship styles to see a massive art style change. 

 

Understanding this mod has Already been in production for a year or two on and off  and will be still in production for a few more as I work on it during enlightened moments and take far too many liberty's such as working to eat or keeping my home clean.

 

If you check my signature you can visit the moddb page for it to get more consistent updates / when I update the mod.

 

Note there will be BLOOD , Not yet mind you although its entirely set within my mind to have much more blood and guts within this mod

If your squeamish about this .. this mod will not have a "cute and fluffy mode" as I wont have time for it. (that's extra coding on a project with one guy working on it )  Please NOTE for now this is a desired / slated for production part and not a part of the mod as is

Should I hear too many complaints I may change my mind and make it "cute and fluffy"  its unlikely.

Obviously there is a lot more then all this stuff HOWEVER the only stuff properly setup for game at this stage is my texture addition (only 100mb) and my menu music .. the infantry are in process of being fully game ready and have the house colour maps done though ive not animated the bones as yet or done the xml for them. 

 

If you seek to help this mod please feel free to post ideas here or at moddb or sail7seas webs site , though personally ill get messages fastest through responses here .

The ships coding is entirely difficult and at this stage that will mean I wont be releasing my first test alpha with them within the mod ,(reasons is I want men to be able to battle aboard ships rather then just spawn a ship to sink)
