That is true, but it uses the 'real' online ingame interface and the 'real' netcode.

Yeah. That's still not what "not third party software" means  :p

Anyway, could anyone offer some insight into the inner workings? I'm somewhat involved in the CnCNet project, which has servers for Command & Conquer 1, Red Alert 1, Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2, and which (with the new system, for the first three games) works with a combination of game hacks and a network dll override. So I'm just wondering how you guys do it :)

Question from a developer point of view... how exactly does this work? Do you edit the exe file? Override a network dll? How do you trick the game into using your servers?

By the way, I think you guys are quite fuzzy on what "third party software" means. Your thing may not be an external tool, but it is still third party software, because it's software that is supplied by you and not by the game's official publisher.

1. the dinosaurs spin like tops when they move.

Can't help it. The walk logic for vehicles is a bit buggy. I just made sure they're visible; I didn't write that logic. Originally the game purposely refused to draw them outside the special Funpark dinosaur game mode.

2. the AI players dont build bases or anything, they just bum rush you in the beginning of the map. this patch is so good but with just a little more effort it could be legendary! thanks for the good work man!

Sadly, "adding working base planning and building AI" can indeed only be described as 'legendary', since it's the stuff of myths. It can't be done.
