Actually I've figured out what is causing the problem, somehow the way that Aragorn interacts with the game.dat file causes it to crash, because it only crashes if Aragorn comes into view, so I'm going to try to see if I can't kill him before he comes into view. (e.g. at one point while the elves are attacking you, depending on your position, Aragorn will become visible for a finite but unknown amount of time. During that time if I use Lurtz to stun him I might have a chance to get around him and kill merry pippin thereby winning the level, that is if I remember the objectives correctly.

Here's the error that I get just as soon as I place any units near to where Aragorn is located in the Amon Hen map file.

Attached File  Error.png   49.33KB   23 downloads

It is then followed by this error:

Runtime Error!
Program...Files\EA Games\The Battle For Middle-earth ™\game.dat
This application requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

And then BFME closes.

That really doesn't answer my question because the Mod does support some of the campaign, but what I really want to know is if it was designed to support or if it just happens to support it. Because in all honesty I'm hoping to be able to resolve this so-called "bug" so that I can continue playing the campaign using the mod because in my opinion it's just boring to just play skirmishes all the time. I mean the mod doesn't even support multiplayer.

I tried playing both of the campaigns while using the Kings of the West Mod and the Evil campaign always seems to crash just as I'm about to finish Amon Hen, whereas the Good Campaign crashes just as I'm about to attack the first few orcs that you come across in Moria. Is this some sort of bug? Or is does the mod not support Campaign play?

Nevermind, I was able to fix it so it works fine now. Thanks for your help anyway.

All I had to do was go into the folder containing the BFME launcher .exe and I created a shortcut of it and add the -mod thing and when I double clicked on it the game loaded perfectly fine. So for some reason or another there was something wrong with the Shadows of Evil shortcut.

:p

P.S. I had a similar problem with Kings of the West, but I fixed that one too (fixed it the same way I fixed Shadows of Evil).
