I understand that the old game.dat needs replaced. I'm asking if I should put the new one in BfME2 while inside the folder it came in, or sans folder.

I downloaded a fresh game.dat just to make sure, and it still didn't work. Just to make sure, am I supposed to copy the game.dat and bfme2.nfo straight into The Battle For Middle-earth™ II, or am I supposed to put the whole folder those files originally came from into The Battle For Middle-earth™ II? The method I've used up to this point is the former, rather than the latter.

I tried doing that, and it didn't work. I tried reinstalling just to make sure, and it's still having the same problem. Something I forgot to mention in the last post I made was that sometimes, I get two popups that say "Fatal exception in exception handler". Just wanted to tell you in case that helps narrow down what the problem is.

I checked the options.ini file, it is in fact a .ini, I made sure the game was being run in admin, and I'm pretty sure that options.ini is in the right directory. Just to double check, could you tell me what the directory is? I'm pretty sure it's C:\Users\(my username)\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files
