... right... no, it doesn't take a lot of time, you just have to explore the data logically.

well i had to spend alot of time cos most of the spells are in german, even in the 4.2 version :s and i have no idea what is what so i use german dictionary to finde out what are those german things :D for me sometimes it takes like one or 2 hour, if realy want to change everything, in to my own will.

What I think is happening here, is there is a miscommunication and confusion about the "proper" way to mod. The quick and simple way to do things would be to use FinalBig to edit the ini.big file and save your changes without doing any extracting. But it seems like all you guys are doing is editing the gamedata.ini values. The problem with this, is that for some reason editing gamedata.ini values doesn't work properly. (I'm not sure if it works differently while editing gamedata directly from the .big, but I guess it's the same problem.)

A long time ago we adopted a new standard for the "proper" way to mod which is using the -mod command method. This method is essentially creating an external source of ini files that are extracted fom the .big into individual files and folders which are neatly organized to find and edit the things you wish. Then once desired changes are made, (in BFME2/RotWK only) you can apply the changes to the game without having to do any extra effort. All you have to do is make a new shortcut that links to the folder containing the new ini files using the -mod command. This will tell the game to read your changes first before reading the default files. When using this method we learned how to bypass the problem with gamedata.ini changes not being read correctly. This is what the preconverted package is. Instead of extracting your own files from the ini.big, we provide a fully extracted and ready to go set of ini files that have the necessary edits already to make fully functioning changes to gamedata values that the game will read properly.

So if you download the preconverted package and setup the files into a folder, then reference that folder using the -mod command, then you should be able to have your changes apply just fine.

I have to agree with you in every point. FinalBig is way beter to editing everything. + i have edited the game data.ini file to severel times, and i had no side effects in negative way. + finalbig can also editing INC files too.  So yes :p i do recomend for every one to use FinalBig, if you want editing some ini files, withouth extract them. Faster, and beter.

If you realy want to hax the mode, you need Final big editor, to edit the mode ini files, but this will take A LOT OF TIME. The mode is quiet massive, and full of datas. it's not that hard, just takes time. You can also edit the map files (if here is an including ini or Inc file with final big) or using the world builder. You definetly cut a large tree head dizziness.
