In Topic: MO3.3 SUPPORT // Game or Client Crashes & Launch Issues Megathread

15 July 2017 - 05:31 PM

Hey gang,

A friend of mine is having difficulties running MO 3.3.0 on his Windows 10 laptop, it gives him error code 0x800f0805 when trying to run the DTA client. I made sure that both gamemd.exe and syringe.exe are running in admin mode / Windows XP SP3 and that the client is running in admin mode as well, but it simply displays this error right as it tries to start up and never progresses any further. We tried every option on the DTA client but it never goes beyond error code 0x800f0805.

My friend did mention that his drivers were 6 months out of date, though I don't see how that would prevent a modern client from starting up at all. If there is an easy solution that I am overlooking then I would be more than happy to hear about it.

In Topic: How to get your spy/saboteur like units into enemy's base?

Edit: Okay, so the trick with subterfuge units like spies, saboteurs and arsonists is to disguise them as your target's units, avoid detection units like dogs, terror drones, tesla troopers and everything with a lens icon on the build list.

In multiplayer however, it's generally a better idea to use CNTRL and left click to force fire your spies to disguise as one of your own troops and have them tag along on a conventional assault, human players tend to spot units they can't control rather quickly so simply pretending like they're part of an assault squad then dashing into a tech center when there's an opening is preferable. Foehn players use Clairvoyants, which requires you to employ the same kind of strategy as with spies against human players, but without the comfort of a disguise.

Generally speaking you'll want to keep your opponent busy while you pop a spy in something they aren't protecting, cutting down someone's power for 90 seconds can buy you enough time to wipe them off the map with a well-placed strike. If you feel like putting any of this into practice, add me on CnCnet, I'm terrible but at least it'll be good practice.

Hope this helps!

Did you try using 'Select All' button?

No, I'm stupid, noted.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that in Godsend, Irkalla can fly off the northernmost tip of the map and become unselectable unless you have it hotkeyed, made me restart once...

Yes, but that doesn't mean they're time traveling. Yuri won WW3, and the conflict between it and Foehn happen years later in the future.

Which means, there will not be Allied or Soviet forces in Foehn campaign aside from abandoned technologies and infrastructures of a bygone age.

I see! How interesting, I will be watching intently to see how the campaign develops further in act 2.
