To change back to patch 1.03 you simply have to move the 105.big and 106.big files out of your installation directory and use the original game.dat of 1.03.

Have you tried to uninstall the T3A launcher with the Windows programs utilities and did you try to run the installer as admin?

With respect to the Windows Installer problem that was preventing me from re-installing 1.06, I have been unable to solve the problem.  After uninstalling BFME the first time, the T3A launcher did not appear in my programs list, so I couldn't uninstall it directly.  I'm not sure if it was in the list prior to my uninstalling BFME, but maybe it is important to uninstall this first, for anyone looking to uninstall BFME in the future. 

As for running the installer as administrator, this did not make any difference for me. 

In the end I had to restore the windows partition from a backup disk image, and then T3A installed normally again.  Maybe this is just an isolated error on my system (Windows 7, btw), but I'd recommend doing a backup before trying to uninstall BFME/T3A, just in case the process damages the Windows Installer.

In any event, I am psyched to be playing some BFME again.  Thanks to the developers who have kept this game running!

When I try to install T3Aonline(1.06), I get an immediate error message that reads "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed.  Contact your support personel for assistance."  This seems to be identical to the issue descibed earlier in this thread by Arrowwind.

Assuming this was a windows problem, I have already done all the suggestions offered by Microsoft to fix the installer, but the problem persists.  I also seem to be able to install other programs, which makes me this is specific to T3Aonline. 

This is how it happened:

I had BFME installed and patched to 1.05. 

I then downloaded 1.06 and installed it successfully. 

Played a few games and decided to go back to 1.03 to watch some old replays (to help me remember how to play).

Uninstalled BFME (perhaps I should have somehow removed t3a first?).

Reinstalled bfme and patched to 1.03, works fine.

Patched to 1.05 and then tried to install T3A again.  Now T3A won't install, gives me error message listed above. 

I just want to get back to 1.06 again so I can play online.  Any suggestions?

I have already tried cleaning the registry with  Ccleaner, in addition to a lot of Windows fixes for the Windows installer.
