Skinning Help

25 May 2006 - 12:35 PM

Hello again,

Just started skinning tonight and set out to slightly change Gimli's texture then just try and get it back onto the model in RenX. (Yes, I am a noob at this )

All went well, following Hasty's Skinning Tutorial until I came to actually applying the skin onto the model, I got it on alright but it looks completely munted, i.e head showing on cloak etc. The tutorial finishes by saying "Bind all the meshes using a WWSkin for each." and I presume this is the problem, but for the life of me I can't figure out what the douss this means. I tried to run the tutorial from the site on WWSkins but it didn't work.

I'm sure this probably only requires a quick link to a different tutorial or a short explanation and thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Finding Building Models

23 May 2006 - 11:54 AM

Sup

Just curious, is there any easier way of finding building models (i.e a previewer or some sort of guide to where what is located) than scrolling endlessly through the w3d folder?

Side question: Any ideas what I am constantly seeing "INI:Missing" etc. when I'm in game testing mod, even though I've throughly been over the lotr.str file and added descriptions etc.?

Cheers and cheers,

Toodle-oo.

New to Modding

22 May 2006 - 07:14 AM

Hey guys,

Stumbled accross this site whilst looking for mods the other day and just thought "Wow!", so much useful information! So I decided what better way to find I mod I like than make it myself. So I started reading tutorials, downloading tools and having a crack at modding BFME2.

After about 5 hours working through errors, reading and re-reading info I'd managed to succesfully make a couple of changes including creating a new faction (kind of ;) ) and had an absoloute blast doing so. I reckon I've got the basics, but I don't think I've got the skills to make my mod so I was wondering what's a good move from here, i.e any coding type stuff I could help with on anyone elses mod?

Anyway, just a bit of an introduction and congratulations to all involved with the running/making of this wickedly informative site and forum! ;)

P.S The mod I aim to create will introduce the faction of Hobbits, post war of the ring.

This is a bit of a list of structures, heroes etc, I wrote up just to give you an idea (Not complete by any means). If theres any mods like this already in production or anyone who would like to see this kind of mod made, let me know and maybe we can make it happen.
