Ok, you know what?

I just realized that I had always thought that this place was on our planet. Seeing that it isn't, it sort of throws the entire plot that I have crafted with the germans and the brits off. I think I shall change that so that it makes more sense.

The flag was voted as the official flag of the Bund in a recent meeting of leaders from each city.
Not even an actual country, per se. More accurately a collection of individually functioning city-states.
There isn't a single leader, but governors of each unit.
There are three main city-states-
-Tanzburg
-Zeeland
-Kentsmanshire
Tanzburg Bundesrepulik-
Republic in the Central Part of the territories.
Population of 500,000 within a 100-mile radius. Often call themselves 'Stechronians' or 'Stekronians'. The reason is not completely known, but speculated to be after their first leader, Friedrich Stecher. 93% of residents have a primarily Germanic background. Similarly to the other states, the majority of the income is due to farming. There is, however, an engineering sector here. Leader is Hans Gustafson, who is against big government and for the common working man.
Commonwealth of Kentsmanshire-
A primarily English and Welsh settlement in the east. Population of 290,000. Primary income from
Trevor Parsons is the leader. Kentsmanshire also has a congress of delagates, known as the 'Commonweath Burgess Congregation'. A large amount of farmers, but also many smiths and miners.
Zeeland-
Not much is known of Zeeland. It's leader, Gunter Kerkloh, displays totalitarian qualities. It doesn't seem as though there is much opression, it's just that the people don't have a voice. The other two states aren't fond of His ways, but are reluctant to try and change it. There is a job-assignment system. It is not a free enterprise system, yet not socialist. Basicallly, it is just a mess.
Military-
There is not really a military, either.
In Tanzburg, there is a millitia known as the "Volkswehrmacht", or people's army. It is basically a large reserve to protect against invasion. All able-bodied men at or over the age of 18 are automatically in it. They are each supplied with one rifle. In Kentsmanshire, there is a volunteer militia, known as the 'Army of the Commonwealth'. In Zeeland, everyone is given a sharp stick or a few rocks, and told to "Give it their best shot".

Not so much a nation, but a loose collection of city-states.
A proud, but simple people of not much government. Not technologically advanced, but have learned how to function without a strict government. Imperialist and Royal roots come from the homelands of these people. Less than 12% of the populus has had roots in this land for over 15 years. Not much consitent data is know of them, but most of the Germanic people call themselves "Stekronian".
