I'm having different issues with both normal Yuri's Revenge, and MO. I can launch Yuri's Revenge, and go through the skirmish setup screen and all of that just fine, the problem is when it gets in-game, it runs like a slideshow. With MO, I can open the launcher, but when I click "Launch Mental Omega" literally nothing happens, no popup, no error message, nothing except this process comes up in task manager, and stay there regardless of whether I close the launcher. (though it can be end tasked):
Hope this clarifies things a bit. (I just realized this was basically covered a couple of posts above mine. Lol)
Hi, just to report that I upgraded to Win10, and MO and everything else works perfectly.
The only thing is that I had to set 16-bit color in windowed mode, which weirdly enough was not needed on Win7. Also set a WinXP complatibility just for the sake of it, and everything seems to work... though I do notice like if the game would be not as smooth as before when it comes to the framerate, but maybe it's just windowed mode.
Edit: Confirming that the game runs smooth in fullscreen.
I got nothing. Installed win10, the Mental Omega Launcher can start, then nothing happens after I click "Launch Mental Omega". Reinstalled and I still have the same issue.
When I try to go online I get the same wsock32.dll error as described above.
I get the same absolute nothing when I try to open RA2.exe (the original game)
When I try to open RA2MD.exe, I get the "put the CD in your drive" prompt.
When I try to play Mental Omega 2.0c, I get the "put the CD in your drive" prompt as well.
The last debug log is from august 3rd, before I installed win10.
We're aware that Windows 10 is causing issues for the game and we're working to get it solved asap.
Right now this seems to be an MO/Ares specific problem but you would all be of great help if any of you can confirm that vanilla RA2/YR are working properly on your machines as well.
RA2 doesn't seem to start, but maybe it needs a reinstall, as some games do that. Interestingly enough, YR works, which explains why MO also works.
So then I decided to play on CnCNet, which caused the wsock32 error, and also, it removed the gamemo.exe file for some reason. I can make the launcher put the exe back, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Huh. What the hell. Maybe it will work again after a restart?
That's a temporary measure then. I don't really care about multiplayer at the moment because I'm having much fun with single player and other games, but it'd be nice to have it all of course. The "fix" also fixed it for me

Vanilla won't even install. I have to use compatibility mode to start the autorun, and when I click install game, nothing happens. I see the process in task manager, but that's it.
Well....I have multiple notebooks here and on my Vaio it works flawless! But on the HP instead...it does install the game (TFD) and the Mental Omega MOD gives no problems while installing.
After I open the MO shortcut, the MO menu comes up...and when I click on 'Launch' I'm getting a error: File is missing: MSVCR100.dll
Even if I download the file from a .dll site it says it's missing the file.
On my Vaio I have win10 and on the HP I have Win 7 x64.
The game always started before with no problems at all. I've updated the HP to Win10 and after that point the problems began.
Now I've downgraded it back to Win 7 but the game still won't run.
Weird...I've even formatted the HD before installing Win 7.
