Hey guys,

Loving the latest addition. However, me and my friend were sat around thinking it would be cool to tweak a few things. With the old RA2 YR you could add a rulesmd.ini. I notice there is a rulesmd.ini in the root of the folder, which is fine except any additions/changes we make do not run in the game. I have also noticed that there are infact around 3-4 rulesmd.ini files located in the root and some of the other .mix files. Can anyone shed some light on this. I have edited most of them, I think, and still nothing. Has anyone else had any luck?

Many thanks,

Greggles

Unfortunately, 3.0 currently uses locked mixes, which prevent you from modding it. This was done in order to protect assets from being ripped, as a large part of it was either made exclusively for Mental Omega, or we paid money in order to use them, and thus can't have them available to the public.

We do have plans to allow user created content, but that's currently for the future until we've worked out the majority of bugs in the mod.

Ah, that's why I couldn't open thememo.mix... :l Too bad.

To allow the original games to continue functioning even with MO3.0 installed, the ini files for Mental Omega do not share the same filenames as those used by the original game. This way you can still play the original games without needing to uninstall MO3.0, just like you can play Red Alert 2 without uninstalling Yuri's Revenge.

We'll share the names of the files when the team is ready to allow fan-based editing. As Zenothist said, stability comes before making MO modifiable. Hope to have your understanding on this. :)
