Im wondering what should i do to stick my mod into a .big file and have it work...
I can make the big file and add files to the correct directory, load and run fine but it seems i cannot do that with the SkirmishScripts.scb... Has anyone tried that and have any success?
Its just it would be so much easier just adding/removing one file instead of a load of INIs etc

thanks

Thats odd. Does a .scb file already exist in the /DATA/SCRIPTS folder? What if it were removed? In your .BIG file is your directory structure consistent as to where the .scb would reside? For your .BIG file, did you place it your /My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data folder then in the Zero Hour Shortcut add the command line "-mod <patch name>.big" (no quotes) in the TARGET area of that shortcut? Run that shortcut and the .big file associated with it will then run?

Don't see why it wouldn't work..

I've tried using SkirmishScripts from within a .big as well, and it doesn't work. I think that's why EA had to create their own directory. I don't know if it is laziness on the programming side, or the .big's causing a problem with the scripts or what.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Right, i cant/wont remove the old file as its the original one needed to play online so it need to be there...
i put the .BIG file in the CNCZH directory, along with the other .BIGs, not on the data folder (but all the directory references of the files do include \data\scripts for example). HOWEVER I havent tried the "-mod <patch name>.big" command so ill give it a ganje.. it might work who knows

EDIT:
Nope it doesnt! ah well.... worth a try afterall!

Nope, the game will not read a .scb file from within a .big file. You'll need a deploy app that renames the old .scb from the client's computer and copies your new one there instead... mastermind is a pro in this kind of thing :)
