Well, without the Asset.dat your changes won't have effect :p. There are a lot of tutorials about creating a new Asset.dat on the Net, just type 'Bfme2 asset.dat tutorials' in Google, I think this way I learned how to create an Asset.dat.

Well, basically you must extract the Textures and w3d big files from ROTWK folder into another folder, then extract the Edain textures and w3d (from the Rotwk gold again) into the same folder. Then go to the apt folder and copy all the big files there into the new folder; then you place the Assetcachebuilder into that folder and launch it. Then replace the Asset.dat in the Rotwk folder with your newly created one.

Hello Thorin! Thanks for teaching to me! i search in forum and i see that you have my own problem and idea many month ago! Now i try to create a new asset.dat.

i have only another question! Edain mod and rc mod asset dat have special name or something like that? because i have edain mod in same folder of rotwk but i find only an asset.dat.

And: i have already add new file to edain textures.big so i must only extract all, launch assetcache builder and sostituite it in rotwk folder, right? can i create the folder for this process in any folder of pc?desktop or etc?

Thanks! Really thanks and sorry for bad english (do you speak italian??:)

The Edain mod replaces the Rotwk Asset.dat with its own Asset.dat, so it's the same file :). And yes, just extract all and launch the Assetcachebuilder and replace the Asset.dat in the Rotwk folder with the one you created; you can create the folder anywhere, after you make the Asset.dat you don't need it actually :).
And no, I don't speak italian, but don't worry, I understand your English :p.

The texture is missing. :p

Make sure to add it to your asset.dat as well (if it's not in the game yet).

Hello! i have a little problem with new asset.dat..i don't note it immediately, but in some maps (arnor for example) i have some problem with the models shadows ( not the new models but the costruttor and goblin, i don't touched them..) and Carthaen's portrait and button are pink..some counsels?

Well, that hasn't happened to me, but if the portrait and button are pink that means they haven't been included in the big files or the Asset.dat.

Hello! i try three times but i have always same problem, Carthaen icon and some other little things doesn't work (shadows of goblin and worker).. maybe i don't extract all, no?

i extracted Edain_data, Edain_textures, Edain_w3d, Edain_terrain.. add the file and lauched assetbuilder..but the asset error file is very long.. i must extract any other?

Thanks.

If Carthaen's icon is purple, then you probably forgot to add the file to the Asset.dat.
The error file is long for me too, but it doesn't make any difference as all the files appear ingame for me.
