Thanks guys. Yeah this faction needs a facelift here and there and the vanilla Dain model just wont do any longer. Along with the new ram for the Battle Wagon and the Demolisher, and the Beorn model with the shapeshift into a bear, we have some new goodies for them =) Radagast is further promised from Edain mod

oh my fuck is the pig happening?

It might, but I'm not really at peace with the pig, so I might go for the boar concept image from Weta. But that mostly depends on you - I mean if it's riggable. I assume the warg SKL would be the only choise it it would probably be hard to adapt the shape of the boar to the warg.

Go with the boar. It is much better than the pig. =p

oh yeh I meant boar not pig. I actually reckon the battlewagon skl would be good too, can just use the animal bones. Coz the shape of the animal skl is similiar to the boar. either would be ok

ere I did a fox on it, doing a leopard atm almost done. Ive a mate who mods for heaps of games, he gave me these so i rigged em. hehe

But... if you rig the boar to the beast skl... how do you give rider animations Val? He can't be just a stiff statue up there?  :whatoa:

Is it possible to use the beast skl (from the wagon) and then combine with the rider SKL of some mounted unit into one??

(EDIT: lol, guess not)

Max, well that would be fantastic for sure, but I assume you are quite swamped in work, so making a new set of anims is most likely too much work atm for you :p And the death anim for the ram/chariot rig is more important right now. But, I do have an Easterling Wainrider standing by, that would definitely need some anims when that time comes. But that is months away, at least.  :smile2ap:

Progress on the head is good. Almost done, just need more images of his beard to wrap it up and start working on the body.

Then, the helmet. As far as the weapon goes, I'm not sure what to do. The book says he wielded a blood red axe, but the movie shows a mattock...  :evilthinkin:

Here's a fun fact....

The mattock of Dain...

Bares a strange resemblance to the mattock in Thrain's hands...

In the Art & Design book for Five Armies, Dain has a red axe.

However, this is a movie mod so I wouldn't mind the mattock. =D

There might be a way to incorporate both, toggle axe or mattock, or The Red Axe as a special power?

Yeah, I was thinking the same when I made dinner just now... We'll see what I decide when the model is finished. I think the mattock looks more menacing :p

Working on the body now, based on EZ's vanilla Dain model so the proportions will be good for rigging.

Also, this will be a good base for other dwarven models  :thumbsuphappy:

Go with the red axe, it's much more fitting for him, he is known for that. Besides, that Dain's hammer looks too much like Thrain's...
