It's clearly not some idealist faction, but rather vengeful ghosts that would do anything for victory.

I bet theirs small infantry force are made up of surviving Allied veterans more than fresh troops that know nothing about the past.

These guys have lost everything in the war, so they wouldn't give a damn about some nasty technology as long as it'll give them theirs revenge.

Allied, Soviet, civilians; anyone who could save himself from Yuri's mind control or genetic abuse. But yeah, aside from their desire for Yuri's removal, their advanced unit technology and infantry characteristics are mostly of a "Corrupt" Allied Force.

I see their questionable tech as both necessary and ironic. Consider this - if they are strong, but limited in numbers, wouldn't "re-purposing" one almost dead Knightframe and through his sacrifice saving the rest and complete important mission be worth it? Besides - look at the nanofiber sync. Essentially it heals and empowers existing units instead of killing two and getting one stronger. So maybe Huntresses' "use on friendlies" is truly a desperate if draconian measure which is not used lightly and Foehn soldiers know this?

The irony comes from this: 1) Epsilon uses genetic manipulations, toxins and other war-crime weapons (dissolvers come to mind) and lets not even get into whole mind control thing. Foehn too have drastic and sometimes draconian methods. Essentially same path, different goals. 2) "He who fights monsters should see to it that he himself does not become a monster". Who said that some of Foehn won't go too far? That would set up perfect "mirror match" situation. 3) Huntress being essentially a mini-grinder medic is amusing, scary and effective. Plus i wonder if their devices work on themselves? :-) If one huntress can re-purpose another, this casts the whole thing into another light. 4) Epsilon Virus can kill a friendly and use that cloud to heal herself and *possibly some* other select units as an unorthodox approach. Foehn Huntress can kill a friendly and use that cloud to save *everyone* else as it was designed to do. Interesting, eh?

So maybe Foehn have nothing to lose anymore and "ends justify the means" is their motto in everything. Win or Die\get enslaved (I don't see the difference, honestly).

Yes. Under desperate circumstances after most of the world and natural resources and population destroyed, Foehn appears to be a faction that would use any way that can lead them to the victory by making effective use of what is being left both mechanical and organic ;). That's why I said they might have a dark nature. But another important thing is that (at least a fan theory) anyone who gains power through war and any form of struggle usually choose to not to give up it's power so easily. So that means maybe Faction 5, 10 years later will try to remove "Foehn Dominion" from the world just like they did the same for Yuri before :D.

Of course :-) Exactly my thoughts. Besides, a faction that struggles with its own morality is more interesting than do-good idealists :-) So far we have people who are ready to make themselves machine-men for the cause (and that is the mild case), people who are ready to melt people (both friends and enemies - remember that Yuri's slaves are still people and probably can be saved) into a paste that heals and fixes other people, robots that can process people into more of themselves and Mentalmeisters know what else. Honestly, compared to this lot Knightframes (even though the name raises some unpleasant thoughts) and terrifying Mastodons look tame and reasonable. And this is awesome for lore :-)

But another important thing is that (at least a fan theory) anyone who gains power through war and any form of struggle usually choose to not to give up it's power so easily.

This is, of course, plausible and very much possible to happen. I mean, why the hell they are even supposed to return to old ways of old world after what they have endured? I would certainly ask myself that question. Sh*tload of good it did last time. Look what happened to Allies and Soviets (Let us remember that so far lore hints at a VERY bleak future for these factions).

One subfaction could go "Screw past" and start building their own vision of future. Probably right in the middle of war with Epsilon. And, in truly ironic case, using thought control. Through cybernetics. He who fights monsters indeed.

Infantry reveal, get hype. One thing I've noticed is the names of the soldiers. Knightframe, Lancer, Huntress, Clairvoyant... They all sound like they're from the middle ages. My question is, if the Latin Confederation captures an upgraded Foehn soldier and places it in the reverse engineer building(detention center?), what version of the troop will be trainable?

The detention center is no more. I don't think there's such a reverse engineer building anymore, though we haven't seen everything yet.

The new Field Bureau acts like the old Prison Facility, that's why you get Drakuv via support power now for all soviet subfactions.

So the new superweapons were subtly revealed

I was expecting somewhere in between a hurricane and a tornado, and I have to say I'm pleased. I also wanna note the resemblance it has to the Rift Generator, just windier.

HD footage of Nanofiber synchronization leaked

Spoiler

Honesty the Nanofibre upgrade support is by far my favorite thing in terms of uniqueness. really i did not expect such a feature to be possible in an RA2 mod (dat ares kit).

So looks like the Huntress functions as the Foehn medic but takes on a more combative role. poor engineer though, who are all the same (but are still super important in the end)

Also i guess i kinda guessed the Lionheart's function by incorporating Tesla technology as an EMP weapon.

It seems like Allies are not the only one who are capable of doing weather control tricks.

Foehn exists only because I watched KLK. :shiftee:

Suddenly, everything makes sense. :D

Also, this makes me wonder if the Foehn Heroes also have a powered up form.

I noticed that all of the Foehn's troops are equipped with headgear. Do they have difficulties with breathing oxygen or that is just for making them look sophisticated ?

Can't wait to hear some of the actual unit voices, although I can pick up slight pieces from the superweapon trailer. Will Foehn have subfaction and hero spotlights like the main factions did before 3.0 was released?

I'm pretty sure that Foehn headgear also serves as anti-mind control device. Its not effective (probably) against direct MC attacks, but against mass MC influences it does its job. At least from story point of view. I could be wrong, of course, but it seems logical.
