Well.....I use a 64 BIT windows but I had to download the 32 BIT version of 

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package

 

That worked for me!

Umm... It suddenly works... why? how? I simply don't know,but it works.

 

There's one little bug now,and is that whenever I get out of the game (by pressing the Windows button I mean) and I come back to the game,the screen is all black. I can play,listen to the sounds,build stuff...

 

But I literally can't see ANYTHING because the screen goes black as hell.  It didn't happen before,I can tell you that. So yeah.

 

Yay for new bugs.

Use windowed mode if you have a Windows 8/10 system (Alt-tabbing in Win8/10 is broken for RA2/YR/MO)

CnCNet 4 doesn't work on Windows 10. Pray you had a Older OS backed up on another PC or something...

We are working on a new launcher that can provide a multiplayer lobby compatible with Windows 10.

 

In the meantime, you can either

• Use a computer with an older operating system. CnCNet 4 works on Win 8
• Use an alternate multiplayer server. This may require some special setup depending on the server.
• Time to play those single player missions!

I've got a new laptop (studying abroad so I couldn't take my desktop with me).

 

I installed Origin and downloaded RA2 and YR for free because it would save me the trouble of looking for the discs again. It's just about the biggest game-mistake I've ever made.

When I start RA2/YR or MO, the screen is black from the start. Not after an alt-tab, but from the start. The game is running, because I can hear the music.

 

I've looked on the EA forums for a fix, and the instructions they gave are these (which seem to work for everyone but me):

It can be because I've got a windows 10 computer instead of a windows 8 computer, but the symptoms were very similar.

 

Here I'm running into a problem to fix my problem. They mention to do some stuff in the options.ini file. That should be in the C:\users\%username%\Documents folder, either as an independent folder or deeper in some EA folder.

 

I do not have any such folder in my documents folder.

 

So it goes wrong there, which is weird. I ran the game, so an ini folder should've been produced. I've done a search for .ini but nothing came up. (Yes, I also got it to display hidden folders)

 

Something I have also tried is to just run MO, but that gives me the same issue. I have changed settings and ran MO in the 16-bit colour version. That didn't do anything either. I've tried playing it in windowed mode, but that just got it to complain "run it in 16-bit colours!" which is very weird because I am doing just that.

 

So, any ideas?

Better late than never.... Do you still have this issue i probaly have the solutions. It is 3 files wich you add in your game folder. It worked for me.

so i deleted the wsock32.dll file and tried to start the game i clicked launch mental omega but instead of starting mental omega it started YR..... wut

 

EDIT: reïnstalled the mod now it won't start but the weird thing is everytime I start the mod YR starts running in the background.

Hello I am not certain if this will be anwsered, I play on a HP windows 10 laptop and I have downloaded Mental omega twice now, first time it had actual errors pop up, now I have taken steps to start it but when I hit launch nothing happens and everything lags. am I missing a program to play? I do have Yuri's revenge and Normal Red Alert 2 off of origin.

Disable Origin functionality for all TUC games within Origin, use these launchers, then try again. The Ultimate Collection has botched registry keys and doesn't work well with mods.

 

 Also set MOLauncher.exe and gamemo.exe to run as administrator.

so I tried reïnstalling YR via Origin..... when it told me that Red alert YR is not available for windows 10 anymore. the same goes for all of the other C&C games.

 

 so anyone who still has the origin version of Red alert 2 on windows 10 DO NOT delete it

Did you get the Free YR Copy from last year? Works fine for me aside from the usual Black Screen Problem which people have a known fix for.

it used to work for me to but after an update Red alert 2 started to lag extremely. so I treid to reïnstal it and now it doesn't work anymore

After I got RA2 to work on windows 10 (after many trial & errors with fixes and compatibility settings) I don't have any problems running MO

hey guys i got this weird thing staring at me from my MO 3.3 client main menu

even though I can just say yes and go on, I still want it to be dealt with so please help me. What does it mean on my computer??
